I propose that we call a word that is nearly a palindrome a "reverb."
I don't know. Being spread thin also reduces the fucks I have to give about pissing people off. Zero fucks (which is what my license plate reads) is not a bad starting point for a fight.
We're disappointed to see Ben Barres's powerful book "The Autobiography of a Transgender Scientist" among the ~400 titles removed from the Naval Academy Library. Needless to say, we're proud to have published his book and will keep it — and his memory — alive.
Incredible news on TDOV.
The 9th Circuit has denied the government’s request to enforce its transgender military ban.

California’s world-class public universities and promise to protect people’s rights should be an example for the rest of the country. But Trump is attacking both.
I’m running for governor to stand up to his bullshit
"You’ve got to just band together and say an attack on one university is an attack on all universities. And maybe you lose that fight, but you’re certainly going to lose this one if you give up before you fight."
The full statement from the family of R.E. Burke clarifies that there were no grounds whatsoever for the British cartoonist to be detained by ICE for almost 3 weeks – she held a valid ESTA, had broken no rules or laws in the US, and was ready & able to return home.

X post by Amy Nixon (@texasrunnerDFW ), featuring a verification badge. The post reads, "The USA is weird now. If you're a person under 30, you probably think it's normal but that's because you don't know. Trust me. It's weird."
America hasn’t felt this upside down since I was a child in an internment camp.
I was bummed when this came on the market for so much (let alone the costs to maintain it). I really wish ASU had bought it to use as a meeting space, but alas, no luck.

A 10-year-old U.S. citizen girl recovering from brain cancer, was detained at an immigration checkpoint while heading to an emergency medical checkup and promptly deported. Thanks to Trump and Musk.

Mooo?
This includes reclaiming university as key to building better citizens, and not better employees. We need to prioritize intellectual investigation and critical thinking, even when that is uncomfortable.
I am concerned with efforts to out-simplify the right: embracing patriotism and simplistic solutions. We need to do the hard thing: Make America Less Stupid. Draping the left in the flag is easy. Encouraging critical thinking and raise the importance of improving intelligence.

This is our new deputy FBI director: internet troll threatening liberal "pussies" who are going to "find out" what comes next.

If there is budget stalemate, they might not have to choose to do this...
Federal workers should stage a massive strike, shut down the government, and push back on Elon‘s bullying.
They've already fired a bunch of immigration judges and magistrates, right? I wonder if they would go after SCOTUS staff...
ATF has recently vastly decreased the processing time on licenses and tax stamps for NFA items (silencers, SBRs, etc.). If you reduce the ability to process those, it means a very noticeable effect on access by gun owners. Will be interesting to see how that is received.
