The Sabres suddenly have a goalie question after Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen’s shaky night in a Game 2 loss.
But the goalie question is far from their only issue after another long night against the Bruins’ stingy defense
Takeaways from Game 2 between the Sabres and Bruins from @FlutoShinzawa and me. Series heads to Boston tied 1-1:
Sabres winger Zach Benson on the post-whistle activity with the Bruins tonight: “Every game you play you hate each other more.”
Tage Thompson is back out there. He went straight to the box. Must have gotten a misconduct.
The Sabres score again to make it 4-2. Peyton Krebs gets a loose puck at the front of the net.
Bowen Byram scores to make it 4-1 with 6:06 left. Beat Swayman glove side.
Tage Thompson went to the locker room after that whole dust up. Don't think he was penalized, so not sure what happened there.
Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen beat glove side. Sabres down 4-0. Alex Lyon is coming in,.
Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen leads the Sabres onto the ice for the third period. No goalie change.
Sabres down 3-0. David Pastrnak to Pavel Zacha, who re-directed it into the net on the power play.
Oh boy. That's an ugly goal Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen just let in. Morgan Geekie flipped a backhand from center ice and it bounced over Luukkonen's glove.
Viktor Arvidsson got behind Buffalo's defense and beat Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen five hole. Sabres down 1-0.
Two massive penalty kills from the Sabres to keep this game scoreless. Careless penalty by Conor Timmins, but his teammates bailed him out.
NHL commissioner Gary Bettman is here in Buffalo for Game 2 of Sabres-Bruins. Said he wanted to “take in the scenery” of this Sabres home crowd.
The Canucks have requested and been granted permission to interview former Sabres GM Kevyn Adams for their vacant GM job, I’m told. He still had time on his contract when he was fired, hence the need for the request. Story from me and Thomas Drance:

“We always talk about, ‘Dogs have to be dogs,’ and today he showed up and led the team."
How Tage Thompson put the Sabres on his back and sparked a Buffalo comeback for the ages:
The Sabres had a 53-38 advantage in hits against the Bruins in Game 1 for those keeping score at home.
Asked whether this win or his first ever playoff win was sweeter, Sabres coach Lindy Ruff said,"This one right here, right here, right now. We just gotta go try to win one more. But this was probably the sweetest of all of them.”
Sabres coach Lindy Ruff on this game adding to the team's playoff experience: "I told them right after the game, ‘You want experience? You’ve got it now.’ What an experience. If you’re going to say this is your first playoff game, you’ve got a great story to tell."
Rasmus Dahlin on Tage Thompson: “Dogs have to be dogs.”
Another goal from Tage Thompson. Hell of an effort on the forecheck and he beats Swayman from in tight. Sabres and Bruins tied at 2.
Tage Thompson tucks one in from behind the net, and the Sabres are back within one. The building is coming to life again too.
