Digital art of a turtle-koi fish creature with a lily pad and pink lotus flower on its back, mimicking the vague shape of a turtle shell. A small frog rests on their lily pad as drops of water catch on the petals of the lotus flower. A tadpole swims shortly behind them. The background is a greyish blue with swirls and sparkles.

The instacart guy got the wrong kind of wax and I can't return it, so I guess I have to learn how to do it with the strips.

Archaeologists Find Iliad “Catalog of Ships” Papyrus Inside Egyptian Mummy - Arkeonews Archaeologists in Egypt’s Oxyrhynchus have discovered a Roman-era tomb containing mummies with golden tongues and a rare papyrus

This is just so cool. A Roman-era mummy recently excavated in Egypt contained a fragment of papyrus with a section of the Iliad.

Advertising Myrtle Beach to someone who lives in Wilmington is a great way to waste some ad money. 🏝

Fucking hell. My allergies are making me want to climb the walls.

Many people, myself included, are sensitive to mango peels specifically. It feels like I've eaten fiberglass. It has urushiol, the same stuff in poison ivy, poison oak, and poison sumac, and I'm highly allergic to those.

False alarm. The machine started working for a little while, made a weird noise, and then started shooting ice out of the vent.

I have been sitting in the heat for hours.

Trying to schedule maintenance and it is such a hassle.

I'm done with the right side of a baby cardigan. I picked out some buttons for it from the big biscuit tin of buttons.

Look at me, using the craft supplies I've been gathering like a dragon heaping up treasure in a cave.

Another huge effing spider ran across the living room floor tonight. I vacuumed it up and then put the entire vacuum outside.

I misplaced the keys as soon as I cut them off the little plastic loop attaching them to the suitcase. I have been looking for them, but not a sign of them.

In the meantime, I found a short story collection that has this deranged story about bunnies that I read for the same class.

Every year, I forget that the company that installed my mini split system did a terrible job until I try to use the aircon in the living room and it doesn't work. They only connected the bedroom unit to the AC lines. I've never been able to get someone to fix it.

I read this Japanese novel in college and I've been trying to remember what it was all day. I don't recall a lot of details about it. I think it was a woman who moved back in with her parents after a failed marriage and there's an orchard? I remember the mood it set more than anything else.
