I finished watching One Piece live action on Netflix with my daughter (10). She loved every detail, was moved by the dramas, and had fun with the costumes and characters. It's great to be able to share a moment of pure, uncritical fun.

Man, I am so sick of the take that all good games are financially successful, and that if a game wasn't successful, it couldn't have been good. That is such an insane take about the video game industry, I don't know where to start.

I see far more people who miss out on games than designers who become blocked by a large repertoire. But definitely yes! The best people to play and develop are those who can play a game with the perspective of a beginner.

Board games are taught through spoken language. Only a small percentage of the audience actually reads the rulebook, while the majority have watched a video or learned from someone else. A bad manual is one that tries to appeal to everyone but doesn't speak to those who actually read it.
It's precisely the feeling of learning that surprised me: there's always one more step to take to continue progressing. I was amazed by the possibilities that the game allowed its community to create. Looks kinda recipe based first but turns to a problem solving game later. 10/10 if it's your poison
I've played a lot of original Theme Hospital and I really enjoyed Two Point Hospital. Let me recommend Oxygen Not Included, which really grabbed me. You can have fun until the base collapses, or you can keep going for months. The game dynamics that emerges small decisions is amazing!
