I can relate, most Sonic games are kind of "meh" to me. But I have a soft spot for some of the classic 2D platformers — Sonic the Hedgehog 2, and 3+Knuckles. Have you played those? (And Sonic Mania scratches that itch, that's a game that I will pick up and play when I have dead time sometimes.)

Pokémon #Pokopia, day 21.
…Main "story" is done, but before I put this game down, I'm taking a stab at a building project. Which started today.
What. Another random unexpected announcement from them…
Looks cool. I need to move Splatoon 3 up in my backlog, maybe, I still haven't gone through that somehow!
Tough fight, good job! I love the lead-up to this part, it is one of the coolest parts of this game.
come on man.
It feels like I've had this on my wish list for years… I'm excited to see the finished product!
I've played this game twice and I'm doing another run with my kids right now. It does have "Zelda" feel in terms of world, dungeons, and progression. Also it has a funny Japanese quirk which reminds me of "Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon", even if it is not quite as "intense" as it was in that game.
That might seem a bit "contradictory" because its just another reason for them to be not prioritizing the "polish". However, just trying to stress that the motivation is purely short-term financial incentive, and not a thought that "most people won't play it until later anyway".
Studios do get that a game is going to get the most attention when it is "new", and first impressions matter… So, I don't think this is the reason for shoddy output. I think it is more that the execs want to see the money "now" (for various reasons) and games get pushed out on a deadline.
Pokémon #Pokopia, day 20.
Finished up all of the main stuff, I guess, and rolled the credits. All done?
Clearly, there's plenty left that I "could" do, but I don't think I have it in me to try and get "all of the Pokémon". I will probably play for about another week, trying a construction project.
This week, right? Good luck!
Generally agree, but I always thought Esthar is so wacky!

Pokémon #Pokopia, day 19.
Building projects. Made a lot of progress on the "initiation challenge" and nearly done with that. Also I think that I'm nearing the conclusion of the main "story"? We'll see how much this game has left…
Awesome. I've also been picking up a lot more third-parties and indie games than I used to. Nintendo's smooth transition from Switch to Switch 2 has made me more confident that this will be a "long-term" library, so I'm leaning more towards picking up games for it instead of PC. (DekuDeals FTW.)
Ah, that is an awesome mug :-)
Also, in Settings/Data Management you can select specific games for it to never “auto delete”. Still. Can’t wait for bigger microSD Express cards to become available…
I’m also all digital and I love it. I’ve been worried about space on Switch 2, though, because some games run close to 100 GB. The “auto delete” function seems reasonable, it makes space by removing your least recently played game(s).
Took so many wonder pick attempts to get this guy. This is just the second time I’ve managed to complete an expansion (silver cards only)… #PokemonTCGP
I am personally familiar with this, it comes off and on. Not fun :-/
Pokémon #Pokopia, day 18.
Eh. More building habitats, more building houses, more waiting for construction, and more gold mining. Trying to advance on multiple fronts at once.
👑-👑 is insane, well-done.
…It got a lot easier for me when I realized you could rotate the camera in the last section (with the boost pads everywhere) so that you didn't have to tackle it "diagonally".
Best retro handheld! Enjoy.
It's amazing that so much thought and "world building" has gone into this racing game!

Lufia II is one of my favorites, and yet another game that I've been really wanting to replay... I wish they'd actually re-release it somehow.
Pokémon #Pokopia, day 17.
• Checked another gate, but it didn't lead to a new area.
• "Mining" for gold! (Found another thing that requires it, so I still don't have quite enough.)
• Managed to get things together to get the Pokémon Center under construction so I don't have to wait for it tomorrow.
I remember a friend playing this (30+ years ago) and I've always sort of wanted to check it out properly. Just realized that "Collection of Mana" is a thing. Another game for the wishlist/backlog…
