While this may be a small, seemingly innocuous encounter, it demonstrates perfectly to me how white conservatives operate.
Attempt, in subtle and not so subtle ways to encroach on others, and when they push back, attempt to gaslight, all while playing the victim.

I stated quite simply that I was treating him exactly the same as he’d been treating me.
He began taking photos of me. I responded by pressing record and turning my phone toward him.
He then accosted me, trying to take my phone, all the while saying, “This is abuse. You’re abusing me.”

After several stops, I finally responded by pushing my elbow back. Hard. He feigned shock. He kept insisting he hadn’t touched me, despite the fact that his elbow by that point had clearly been pushing further and further into my space.

Last night on the tube, a drunk man stepped on my feet, hit me in the face with his rucksack, then sat next to me and continued to subtly, but with progressively more force, elbow me to negotiate more room on the arm rest between us. To the point that it started to hurt me.
