Clean energy project cancellations surged to $1.4B in May The industry has lost $15.5 billion in investments since January — seven times greater than losses at this point in 2024, according to a new analysis.

In just 5 months, twice as many clean energy projects have been scrapped as in all of 2024.

This totals $15.5B in lost investments—7x higher than last year’s total.

US finalizes $9.63 billion loan for Ford, SK On joint battery venture The U.S. Energy Department on Monday said it has finalized a $9.63 billion loan to a joint venture of Ford Motor and South Korean battery maker SK On to help finance construction of three new battery manufacturing plants in Tennessee and Kentucky.

The joint venture is building battery manufacturing facilities in Kentucky and Tennessee that will enable more than 120 gigawatt hours of U.S. battery production annually.
BlueOval SK said it has invested more than $11 billion to date in Kentucky and Tennessee.
