The way modern cinema makes everything unnecessarily dark is the worst. I want to SEE the movie, not squint and guess what's happening with the help of the audio

I remember an old tumblr post where a gifmaker/ editor showed their work side by side with the original and damn the way the gif looked so much better without losing the tone and vibe of the film

You can make horror and not make it all a black screen. I swear you can.
