An error that could happen is background layers being hard to set at integers for scrolling, creating an accidental subpixeling or aliased "crusty" effect. Something would need to be put in place to clamp it

While maybe a dumb idea, I've wondered what parallax occlusion mapping on a sprited background would look like, it might useful for you here

It would require a normal or height map but it may be able to work on 1-layer MD backgrounds

If you painted a full normal map, it could make it pseudo-3d too

Watching the chaos unfold on twitter while more and more atrocities are discovered in the files have left me wondering if people are going to actually do something about the elites this time or if we're just going to have yet another round of peaceful protests that have never done anything once
