It has nothing to do with absolving Trump of blame. I'm genuinely trying to understand if the OP believes Israel was not a factor in the US intervention. I think there are arguments it was a factor, from Rubio's statement, the 12 day war, military strikes they did that removed diplomatic off-ramps.

I'm just trying to understand the original post. In it he juxtaposes 2 claims by this Kent guy, first that "Israel and its powerful American lobby" bears blame for the Iran War and second that Israel et al. bear blame for the 2003 Iraq War. Is the author saying both claims are equally nonfactual?

My own take on Joe Kent is that he's a despicable Nazi who reached the right conclusion on Iran but did so partly because of his vile antisemitism, yet it's still a good development because it shows how Trump's base is further fracturing, which could hasten Trump's downfall
