I like the metaphor. If it’s about the journey rather than the process, I get it.

No hate towards the artist’s talent or effort. I’m in awe. I just don’t see the point versus a more interpretive expression. Hyper realism approaches objective perfection. But if there is such a thing as objective perfection… is it still art? More like an incredible craft.

I like the idea of it as a gargantuan personal challenge. That makes a lot of sense to me.

I definitely miss the point. Just personal taste, I prefer more interpretive art. That doesn’t mean I’m not in awe of his talent.
