Myself & many colleagues are facing this at Sheffield Uni - double punishment for strike action. In the midst of this, yesterday many departments got an email announcing imminent structural reviews (ie redundancies). @sheffielducu.bsky.social

Bookshop: Buy books online. Support local bookstores. An online bookstore that financially supports local independent bookstores and gives back to the book community.

I only realized that it was Prime Day because Amazon must have spent a fortune on ads bombarding me.

Then I checked other retailers.

Bookshop.org (which I love anyway and which gives a percentage of your order to indie bookstores) is holding an anti-Prime sale:

How and why is Britain obtaining access to nuclear gravity bombs? UK purchase of F-35A squadron means US nuclear warheads are likely to be stored on British soil once again

@theguardian.com this is wrong on trident use. Not only used in ‘highly unlikely scenario where a surprise, all-out nuclear attack destroys the UK and its way of life.’ UK could use nukes first and in response to range of threats including to NATO allies

France spent €90,000 countering research into impact of Pacific nuclear tests Documents suggest campaign to discredit revelation that tests contaminated many more people than acknowledged

If there was ever any doubt why France 🇫🇷 tried to stop @who.int from revisiting the health impacts of nuclear war at #WHA78 last night—this is why.

For decades, France & other nuclear powers have tried to bury the truth about these weapons @jonhenley.bsky.social www.theguardian.com/world/2025/m...

Meanwhile here in the U.K., extra concerning in the context of continuing gov attempts to limit legal public protest.

The sad thing is that email and admin have taken over academic life so much that many of us have to squeeze in the poisoning of minds on evenings and weekends.

Thank you! I appreciate your help in replying to this. I wonder about pre- 49 nuclear diplomacy as supporting this claim but it’s not my area so I need to read more.

#nukesky request for help, the claim that in a future disarmed world, any state with a nuclear weapon/s would have an overwhelming advantage. Is there research that bases this in history, theory, strategy etc? Is there work that argues this through? I’d like to read it if anyone has suggestions?

Hi #NukeSky - we're still taking photojournalism pitches at @inkstickmedia.bsky.social for our call for nuclear weapons industry images.

We'd love to see your pitches from places in the US like Pantex or the Savannah River Site or Promontory. And lots of others!

Nuclear Arms Buildup Isn't Just about War. It Also Harms People and Communities. The prevalence of this acceptance of arms racing and nuclear war fighting talk does not simply reflect the world we are in, it has political power to influence the world and increase the risks we face...

I wrote a commentary on the impacts of any further nuclear weapons buildup on people and communities in New Mexico. Recent recommendations ignore the human and environmental costs of more nukes. inkstickmedia.com/nuclear-arms...

The film will be screened at various film festivals, if you see it anywhere do go. It’s an incredible story of injustice and harm but also people who have suffered so much loss but still fight for their community. #nukesky

I had the privilege of seeing a screening of this film
@Santafefestival
It tells story of trinity downwinders

I should prob say something now I’m on here.

👋 Hello I’m here for spicy feminist and critical takes on nuclear weapons, photos of cats and snark about a nyt columnist’s airport meal.

I also still don’t really know how this works.
