a white Kirby-themed SUV

When I say Kirby-themed, I mean that the side has a giant depiction of Kirby in sunglasses with the Kirby logo next to him. The hood also has the Kirby logo with a smaller Kirby underneath it. The mirror has a warp star in it. The backseat window has a little Kirby decal and Kirby plushies decorate the dashboard.

With a few days of staycation, finally diving into Metaphor: Re-Fantazio.

I love Persona and had a good idea of what I was getting into, but even like this barely an hour in I am completely in awe of the amazing sound design.

And for all of the the reporting on the dire situation of the industry, the pessimist in me feels worse is to come and we're not yet discussing enough the consequences of the bonkers pyramid schemes of AI hardware appropriation and how it will price players out of gaming over the next 5 years.

I am particularly delighted by the idea that this one is somehow an ugly Christmas sweater.

A spot where two buildings are nearly touching. The one on the left is a glass skyscraper and the one on the right has ornate Roman Revival details. The cornice is overlapping the glass building by a few feet and it looks stupid as hell.

a cartoon drawing of a bird with a long beak and feathers Alt: A "cultist" character from slay the Spire 1, dressed in a robe covered in feathers with a bird mask and waving hand scythes rythmically.

Happy Slay the Spire II (Early Access) release to those who celebrate.

(I do.

It's a holy week for me.

Actual Second Coming level of celebration.)

If folks are curious, I curated a list of narrative tools for games here a while ago litotic.com/ndwiki/doku....
many of them are free or have trial versions
many game studios use custom tools
(it's not the most up to date, but can give you pointers, depending on what you're trying to do)

It's a tough one. In general, I'd say it is fine, because typically it "scales down" with brackets, you expect more non-basic, fancy lands in higher brackets.
BUT, weirdly enough, some of the decks the most punished by this are... precons, which tend to have absurd amounts of non-basic.

For Ubisoft, delivering seamless multiplayer experiences to a global player base is an infrastructure challenge of massive scale. It requires managing thousands of game servers with a global footprint and absolute resilience.
Join us to see how Ubisoft solves this by leveraging Agones, the open-source game server scaling engine on Kubernetes. We will dive into the real-world use case and production data behind Ubisoft's fleets, demonstrating why they bet on cloud-native tech. Along the way, we’ll trace Agones' evolution from its origins at Google to its current home in the CNCF—showing how a community-driven standard is now powering the biggest names in the industry.

With Agones moving to @cncf.io, I'm excited to be keynoting Kubecon EU with Jean-François Hubert, Development Director at Ubisoft (albeit for 3 minutes, But it'll be fun I promise! 😆)

We're doing a runthrough of how Ubisoft orchestrates multiplayer games with Agones!
