they’re all incentivized to use it at this point. they see education as a transaction. and generally, none of them have any academic curiosity or think there’s anything worth learning, which is genuinely heartbreaking. The college as business model has failed a lot of students.

i’m an optimist, but ai is effectively ruining any hope i have for the future. at least 75% of my students regularly submit fully ai plagiarized essays weekly basis despite several conversations, failed assignments, & lectures. i have probably 4 students who can effectively think for themselves.
