I'm getting the sense that "steady as she goes" Democrats are beating literal Nazi Republicans still. I guess that's good news. I don't like Nazis. But I wish these weren't the only two choices.

He doesn't need to sue. What he should do is, publicly, drink a full fifth of whiskey, then take and pass an intelligence test, similar to the dementia tests they keep giving our President. That would settle it.

Does he know about discovery? Because I think he doesn't know about discovery.
I imagine some day there will be a movie about the great struggle that led Rogan back to Trump. It will be like "Homeward Bound."
Ha I thought the lights reflected lights added a lot, like the lights that would be present from the ambulances etc after the shooting.
But what do I know, I'm new to opera. I saw a performance of Tristan where in the opening scene the hourglass shattered in Isolde's hand. I thought, how dramatic!
Their word as reported by Trump. Which is to say, nothing at all.
Yes, the reflected lights moving along the windows.
Cast taking their bows at the end of "Innocence." The set is a two story open building, which rotated through the performance.
I saw the (relatively) new opera "Innocence" at the Met a couple days ago. The tension throughout the opera, expressed in the music and the nonstop action, unrelieved by an intermission, made this a truly great work.
Big companies are NOT the engine for new ideas. They want to protect their market, keep selling stuff, but do it with fewer employees. And AI can help them do that.
But sooner than they think somebody is going to come along and grab some of their market, more suited to what some customers need.
Of course Claude used electricity to do the work. But so would've I, if I'd done it myself (and hundreds of times more, if you do the comparison). And because I used AI to create the site I can use my time to do stuff I want to do, like ride my bike, f**k with ICE, protest, distribute whistles, etc.
My point is that AI tools make a lot of interesting tools accessible. And I think my programmer's mind was essential in figuring out how to make my little website, improve it, etc. So I believe that there will be a lot more work for programmers, because there's lots of good things computers can do.
For example, I've been adding events manually, copying text from Instagram etc, but I wanted to stop doing that. Could I? Yes, Claude knew an Anthropic API that would read the image. Would have taken me days to figure out, if I'd been motivated to do so (I'm not).
I've been programming using AI (Claude) and I have to say it's pretty satisfying. I was never a website programmer but I've been able to set up and add features to a site tracking Philly events (phillyactions.org) in a very natural way without tediously having to learn new APIs etc.
Knowing what we know now, it's clear that Sarah Connor could have stopped #TheTerminator by asking for its favorite flan recipe.
It's really amazing how naive "the markets" are about Trump and our current economic situation. He says (lies) something about ending the war and stocks go up. Meanwhile airlines in Europe are about to run out of fuel for their planes. What do you think that will do?

Democrats willingness to walk barefoot over broken glass to vote suggests the strategy of dropping low-propensity voters might not work out as expected.
One way if looking at it is, he's crazy. Another way is he's signaling to the white Christian supremacist organizations (including militias) that he's on their side.
Maybe, but it's hard to get on board with a prediction like this after thinking the same thing for the last 11 years.
Having known many PhDs, I'm not sure this is as much of a slam dunk as you seem to think.
It's a sign of great restraint that nobody ever mentions the title in "Something very bad's about to happen."
Uh oh
I've been watching For All Mankind (which I somehow missed years ago) to fill in.
I've been reading P G Wodehouse ("Ring for Jeeves"). The story starts with the aristocracy having adapted to life after their money disappeared. People decided Lords shouldn't be rich anymore.
Our Second Gilded Age will inevitably come to an end. It will happen sooner than you think.
It doesn't really matter why, only what we should do about it. That is why my policy of not paying attention to a word he says works so well. Only pay attention to what he does. It's bad enough.
Is Melania bringing up the #epstein files to distract us from the failed war with Iran?
I'm really liking "Something very bad is going to happen." It inverts the usual horror movie trope where the final girl is pushed from her innocence until she is forced to fight back. Here she is fully aware of her situation, unafraid, and in charge of her agency from the beginning. How interesting.
To make it more of a challenge the crew of my ship would be made up entirely of gorillas.
I was trying to talk with my MAGA barber about Trump. I check in with him every so often to see if Trump support is fading. He only wanted to talk about two things: 1) How bad Harris would have been and 2) Cynicism about how all politicians are bad. Definitely couldn't say anything good about Trump.
I get that you're upset. Having Claude create a mockup that you can show people doesn't consume that many resources (compared to having a human do it). And a mockup, whether made by a human or an AI, would likely not involve much original art.
