In an age of creeping relativism, a universal moral law still exists.

Threatening to end an entire civilization of 90 million people in order to bend a nation’s conduct to your will is grossly morally wrong. It is evil. And we should say this loudly.

I understand the politician’s reluctance to get caught in a game of rehearsed slogans and codephrases. I think this is a corrosive trend in our politics. But the solution is to speak honestly and plainly, not to retreat to a different set of carefully-picked codephrases

I’m not sure there’s any analogue in US history to the organic community organizing around Minnesota schools to help support vulnerable families through ICE and Metro Surge.

In some schools it’s as many 5 volunteers for every vulnerable student. Implies something like 25k volunteers in the region.

If you're a country elsewhere in the world and you're looking at the Hormuz situation, I think you'd pretty quickly come to the conclusion that the only reliable solution is regime change... in the US. "American regime falls, America is defeated, withdraws" is literally the shortest path out.

They made them take down the videos because they would cause "reputational damage" to people like this young man, Nathan Cavanuagh, so definitely don't post this all over the internet with the name Nathan Cavanaugh attached, or this guy might suffer reputational damage. This guy, Nathan Cavanaugh.

MPD could make observers' lives very difficult. Unlike ICE, they are able to pull us over for traffic violations, search our vehicles, generally make our lives miserable and our work impossible. They absolutely did not do this. That's a minor miracle.

Difference between @startribune.com and @nytimes.com coverage is very apparent. One operates based on facts and local knowledge and the other one from its high perch and both sides “fair and balanced” angle even in situations that don’t warrant it
