Because Starmer is an ambitious lawyer who moved into politics but lacks political nous and is reliant upon his advisors.

I suspect that behind the scenes, Mandelson was the mastermind behind Labour Together, its capture of the party from Momentum and the Corbynites, and the grooming and promotion of Starmer to party leader and prime minister: that gave Mandelson a certain cachet.
They are all pretty unpleasant. Robert Jenrick Junior is another case in point.
It began when the main parties changed their leadership selection process to election by the party membership - 1998 for the Tories, 2014 for Labour. This led to a series of increasingly wild-eyed and empty-headed party leaders - technically, a dotard amplification spiral.
And the gen is that Mandelson was not appointed to handle Trump - Trump did not want him - it was given to him because he coveted the post and was influential via his protégé, Morgan McSweeney.

He made some big mistakes as leader but has been very effective with transitioning to renewables.

The shortlist for the post allegedly consisted of Peter Mandelson, George Osborne and Eddie "Bear" Grylls, shown here with his friend Russell Brand.
Jobs for the boys.
If Starmer is forced to resign, who can replace him? There does not seem to be any obvious candidate.
He does appear to have been grazed by a bullet. One photo captured a bullet going past him.

Of the 16 people in the trial, 8 staged an immune response following the treatment. Of those 8, 6 are cancer free at 6 years. Quite an impressive result.
Rayner's error does seem to have been genuine: it revolved around buying a property in trust for her severely disabled son. She was unable to discuss the matter freely due to an injunction relating to the history of his condition. The Tories and Reform were fully aware of this.

Just the same in the UK. A local farm put up small signs "We grow your food". Actually mate, we subsidise your range rover.
I suspect that the UK government wanted a supply of labour without the cost of regulating it though residence permits etc.
No, they have been best mates for 50 years.
