Space travel, Mike :)))). And constant mixing thereafter. They can do the Lestrel run in 12 parsecs or whatever.
Also the Force protects DNA from mutations or something :)))
That scene, wow! My wife was watching from under the blanket
Wow, the cat even dragged their bed with them ;)))))
New FeiginLab paper is OUT! A commonly prescribed anti-anxiety drug reduces inflammatory signaling in pancreatic cancer through regulation of cancer-associated fibroblast activity!

One of my shitposts from Twitter four years ago, matching Roman emperors with metal subgenres.
From the nation which had ice cream ships in WWII
and a tax refund of 7000 USD which in NY will get you two months of rent of a 2-3 bedroom apartment, or maybe will cover you deductible in case of a health emergency
like these Mamdani billionaires who got (*check notes*) 1951$ USD in capital gains! They probably control several companies with such wealth!
you filthy rich academic getting all these million dollar grants on working people's taxes!!
the only question is what next- a coal power plant or start with windmills?
every 8th year old lemon stand is just a front for the Mafia, and they all maintain omerta
Catholic Church should really start excommunicating people again
also, does NYT imagine that an academic and a director of non-blockbuster, festival movies are very rich? Intelligentsia contributes to their children success in other ways, such as good education and connections
Trillion dollar budget and this is what you get :-/
I will ask him, if he talked with the ombudsperson, thanks a lot! No intention breaking the agreement, but maybe MPI can grant a waiver if there are no Ru affiliations + there is a statement that the 1st author did all the work prior to spring 2025. I know that physics paper were published this way
The Osman Empire boys :))))

O yeah, same as taking affiliations off, and even better, if EMBl would allow it. But still I would first get advice from someone in MPI if this would be ok for them
(No, regarding the publication, not other options, like no affiliations for Ru authors)
In my capacity as an export representative, I require a statement from you confirming that you have no further connections to Russian universities. No further publications with Russian universities or scientific institutions are planned or forthcoming. The most recent publications date from spring 2025.
The statement that he signed looks like this.
I think that us taking off our affiliations would maybe be ok, but he will require a waiver, and it is not clear how to get that (the representative in his Uni just said, no, you can't)
I undertand that as long as he is connected to Max Plank he cannot publish no matter the affiliation if they won't permit it.
Need a bit of advice from colleagues in Germany, especially MPI. I have a former student who moved to Germany from Russia for his Masters. We have a preprint, which was not yet published. MPI/his Uni made him sign a statement that he would not publish with Russian institutes 1/n
(Owens obviously)
photo from "The worst person you know just made a great point" meme
Of course the most probable way this ends that the article will stay a preprint until the war ends and relations normalize. Which is ok. But maybe somebody knows if there is a way to resolve this w/o causing problems for the student's career in Germany, but also getting him a deserved publication
So now the preprint can't be published. He offered to take his name out, but he is the first author, and I cannot agree to that. His institute said that he cannot publish, but I don't know if this means that there are no options. The Ru coauthors are ready for example to publish without affiliations

Looks gorgeous!
