what do you think of the playstaion2's visual design? below is an illustration of a ps2 with a cartoon face, holding up a small round mirror and looking at itself, smiling. it has a pink nose and probably wouldn't look out of place in an episode of ren & stimpy. to the right are the options: i love it (this answer came a distant second) it looks like a '70s entertainment center it's cutting edge it looks better than the playstation it's perfect (this answer got the least votes) it looks worse than the playstation (this answer easily got the most votes) (there were a total of 5981 votes)

I don't recall any previous transformative technologies that had to be sold to the public so hard. No one in 1999 was going, "Guys. Cell phone? It's coming, whether we like it or not. I think it's important, FOR WOMEN ESPECIALLY, to learn about cell phone. So that we're not left behind!!"
We already KNOW how to make super babies, you eugenicist creeps! And it's all the things you fucking fucks are fucking up! THREAD!
I was there for the rise of the internet and smart phones, and they absolutely sold themselves. People took one look and got excited. There was no point, years into the smart phone, where companies were having to be like "you may not like the iPhone but it's here to stay so get used to it"
Happy Tax Day, New York. We’re taxing the rich.
we literally re-engineered like fifty different kinds of fruits and vegetables in the last thirty years to make them taste vastly better & be more nutritious. I am on three different daily medications that did not exist until the mid 90s or mid 2000s. and everyone. smoked. everywhere.

You would get so many more amazing books if you had Universal Basic Income. Not even the most dream-scenario AI could compete with the creativity of a world of authors no longer afraid of affording rent.
This is amazing, your church is to be commended!!

I'm so goddamn proud of her.
I hope Kat and people like her continue to run, continue to push the conversation leftward, and beat candidates like this. I'm disappointed but impressed by how well she did; she had the entire machine rear up and try to suppress and destroy her campaign, and she still came really close.
In any case, I'm sure Biss will be a fine/probably-above-average member of Congress. Bummed out for Kat, though. I think she's a generational talent, and I certainly hope this is just the beginning for her in politics.

My family is 45 minutes west of Dubuque and if we could get there then hitch a ride home at the same time my dad does his weekly Menard’s trip?? Amazing
Look, now that we're trying for real consequences for the Epstein files, maybe we should also take another look at the Panama Papers

Benito is a threat b/c he makes art so alluring and enjoyable you want to understand everything about it and then you end up learning about sugar and slavery and colonialism and the Taínos and Hawaii and then you probably have some thoughts of your own, and that's why art is powerful and dangerous
