Instead of wasting my money on contorting data sets to "prove" abusers are of a certain nationality, I'd like the same efforts protecting children and women from the only thing the data set proves most perpetrators are

But if I've learnt anything from the last few years, is that we will be forced to accommodate tech giants' profiteering rather than the other way.

I'm less concerned getting into a driverless Uber, than I am cycling near one (given they have a reputation for randomly halting, and that Texas / California are far less pedestrians and cyclists)

In huge news, the UK government was just defeated in the House of Lords for a second time over AI & copyright.

The government had removed amendments to the Data Bill that would require AI companies to disclose their training data. The Lords have now reinserted them.

Masked as a matter of women's safety, I recognise its historical context. Terry Kogan: "policymakers were motivated to enact toilet separation laws aimed at factories as a result of deep social anxieties over women leaving their homes—their appropriate “separate sphere”—to enter the work force."

It really shows how shallow this debate is when so few have actually questioned the matter of sex segregation in its origin.

A man said to me in my office "I like girls but I don't want to use the toilet with them", upon discovering that we now have unisex toilets.

So much of the supreme court ruling on sex has been revolving around bathrooms. No discussion around why we have gendered bathrooms. No discussion why people want gendered bathrooms. No discussion on the history of bathrooms.

While many Chinese businesses are reeling from the trade war, Qi, the Maga merchandise maker, brushed off any suggestion his might suffer.
Trump supporters, he said, were willing to pay any price for items bearing the image of their beloved president - and US suppliers were making such a huge profit on them that they could afford to partially absorb the tariff impact.
A Trump baseball cap, for instance, cost only Rmb7.50 ($1) to produce. Tariffs might raise that cost to Rmbo, but the caps were being sold for $50 in the US.
"American sellers could even use the tariffs as an excuse to raise the price to $60 - yet the extra cost will still be borne by the US consumers,
" said Qi.

even knowing how horrifying Tesla's rampant pollution at the Fremont, CA plant is, the environmental racism on display at the XAI cluster in Memphis is nothing short of shocking
