Mamdani is not just filling the potholes with the crew. He's creating a visual and personal reminder of the dignity inherent in all of these anonymous government jobs.

"No," the swordmaster said.
"One does not refuse the king," the herald said.
"I do. I will not train his soldiers or officers, I will not tell my students to join his army, I will not support his unjust war."
"You will regret this!"
"No," the swordmaster said.
At least Ahab had a clear and well defined goal
I don't know how anyone else feels about this, but to me, sharing a screenshot of chatbot output to make a point of some kind is an excellent way to undermine any credibility that might otherwise be granted to you in the context of whatever you're trying to say.
Remember, Harry Potter is about a posh boarding school for rich British kids, while Diane Duane's Young Wizards is about a couple lower middle-class kids from Manhattan having to learn magic on their own. Just an all-around better series.
On desktop, as long as you can see the scroll you should still be able to interact with the mode drop down.
What mobile browser are you using? How long did you wait before declaring Space Opera mode not working? We tested with the major mobile browsers, but it does take a handful of seconds longer for the scroll to show up on typical mobile aspect ratios
if you don't like the social issues conversations in star trek then you just don't like star trek
that's.......the whole entire point of star trek
Holy shit we might have a cure for sickle cell anemia
it’s a guy running circles on an aircraft carrier that’s in motion
dying laughing at the strava data for the guy running laps on the french carrier
One lap and then it starts again. On March 13, at 10:35 a.m., amidst the waves, Arthur (not his real name), a young officer in the French Navy, was out for a run, circling the deck of the ship where he worked. To record his performance — a little over 7 kilometers covered in thirty-five minutes-he used the smartwatch on his wrist. The data collected was then uploaded to the internet. Because Arthur has a profile on the sports app Strava, and it's "public": anyone can view it. The young man has therefore just reported, almost live, the exact position in the Mediterranean Sea of the aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle and its escort, northwest of Cyprus and about a hundred kilometers from the Turkish coast, as Le Monde has observed .
truly incredible that strava leaks are still happening after all this time
All Canadians over 16 are invited to comment on this Transport Canada public consultation on headlight glare: tc.canada.ca/en/corporate...
Please participate if you're able! The brightness of LED headlights is out of control, and they're a real hazard to drivers and pedestrians.
A graph of the past year of the S&P 500, showing a generally upwards trend with one large dip nearly a year ago and small up and downs through the rest of the year. The most recent trend is a small dip.
This seems like a case of over-zooming a graph to try to make a small change look big.
The phrase "Werewolf renovation planning" stylized in the form of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles logo.
Sometimes I just have to get a thought out of my head, y'know?
my neighbor told me SAMs keep eating his fighter jets so I asked how many fighter jets he has and he says he just goes to congress and gets a new fighter jet afterwards so I said it sounds like he's just feeding fighter jets to SAMs and then his taxpayers started crying
This is what I need cis folks to understand.
It's been a decade.
Imagine living TEN FUCKING YEARS watching as a blatant, artificial campaign to erase your personhood, your identity and your safety chugs along, increasing in power every single day, and most people don't care or dismiss it
This is insane. The Kansas Legislature overturned the Governor's veto to make this happen.
The EU does not print gender on driving licenses.
CW: transphobia.
See, this is why it can be painful to know too much history.🫤
This post implies that what is happening in Kansas is *similar* to what the nazis did.
But it's not just similar. It's *identical*.
In 1933, nazis revoked trans people's documents. Before 1938.
Paragraph 175 and 183.

Universal healthcare is hard. Only 31 of the top 32 countries have managed it.
This one hits hard.
@vicmmic.bsky.social loved your performance tonight, and had a blast at the show in general! :)
