Ms. Ernst, every bit of this drips with condescending sarcasm, even--no, strike that--especially your recommendation that people embrace your lord and savior. If only your lord and savior had offered any advice on how to help the poor and downtrodden...

What’s with the PGMOL’s conspiracy to help Liverpool win the Prem? Hola, amigos, I know it's been a long time since I rapped at ya. It's been a long time, been a long time, been a long, lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely time. Let's just say there's been a lot of upheaval and leave it at that so we can get down to what's bugging me: how the PGMOL rigged things in Everton's favor in ways that will make it that much easier for Liverpool to win the league—not that they need the help.

Give us Feyenoord, please (the “be careful what you ask for” edition)… So. It's all but settled then. We'll face one of Feyenoord or PSV Eindhoven in the round of 16. First things first, it has to feel like drawing either Dutch side is better than drawing either of the Italian sides (I might enjoy seeing us slay at the San Siro, but that's another story for another day). It's not just that either Italian side would have offered a stiffer challenge; the other consideration is whom we might face should we advance past our Dutch opponents.

GIve us Feyenoord, please:
- avoid Real Madrid in the QF
- give van Persie a comeuppance.
That is all...for now.

If we can keep the pressure on them, they just might stumble. I'll be watching today's match closely. Let's hope Unai and Emi (and the rest) can do us a favor

Definitely pulling for PSV both because Ii'd prefer to draw them and because I like to see an underdog succeed...unless it's against us!

Juventus,
Feyenoord👍

Our run-ins are similarly tricky. That 10 May trip to Anfield could be cataclysmic!

got it. It's coming back to me now. I'm remembering seeing somewhere that we would like to see both PSV and Feyenoord advance so as to ease our passage to the next round. I like taking on the big clubs, but I don't mind buying us some time until Saka and others return to fitness

No? I was going on BBC's reporting which suggested that we'd face one of Inter or Feyenoord.

nice to find you here, Andrew. It's something to see that we're finding ways to win despite these injuries. Liverpool look a little wobbly. The fat lady ain't singing yet. She's not even in the green room.

he was even better on the 2nd, staying onside even as Trossard disappeared behind three defenders and timing his run to perfection. Deft touch as well, side-footing on the half-volley when a lot of players might have gone for power only to send a souvenir into the 37th row

man would I have loved to see Celtic advance. Classic underdog, knock that tosser Kane out of the competition as well...They gave it their all and took one of the giants to the brink of elimination.

I'm two generations removed from Ireland, so the number of Irish players in the squad at the time (Brady, O'Leary, Stapleton, Devine...) was a big factor in my allegiance to this club.

It’s clearly time to put the Nwaneri hype-machine into overdrive. Past time, in fact. Clearly, in Ethan Nwaneri, we have a preternatural prodigy of a player, one who is already drawing fawning comparisons to other players at home and abroad. At just seventeen years of age, one thing rings like a clarion call in the night: we simply must ramp up the hype around this lad as high as it goes. To eleven, if needs be.

Merino, Calafiori, and Arteta bring totaalvoetbal back to the Arsenal! To be clear, the 0-2 scoreline suggests a rather comfortable win over Leicester, but the reality is that we laboured for most of the match with the worse-than-hapless Raheem Sterling doing his best to join the ranks of Chelsea castaways to nick a living at the Arsenal. In the end, though, it was Arteta, not really known for his tactical flexibility, indulging a bit of "total football" back in order to turn this match on its head.

Are Liverpool rattled? They look like they’re feeling rattled. Yes, this one was always going to be an emotional cauldron. The 120th and final Merseyside derby at Goodison Park, with the hosts and their visitors about as far apart as can be. Liverpool started …

After a shock-loss alway to #Plymouth in the #FACup, a #MerseysideDerby draw away to #Everton, and a meltdown after, are #Liverpool rattled? They sure look it. Can #Arsenal do anything with it, though? #COYG #ArsenalFamily woolwich1886.com/2025/02/14/a...

Of Epimetheus, Havertz’s injury, and Kierkegaard… Of all of the Greek myths, was anyone more hapless or useless than Epimetheus, the Titan whose supposed gift was afterthought? Keep that in mind as we launch into an ex post facto investigation into Kai Havertz's season-ending hamstring tear and our failure to sign a striker in January. If only to get my historical allusions out of the way early, I'll add that Søren Kierkegaard once said that "life can only be understood looking backwards but must be lived looking forwards." Put that in your pipes and smoke it.

Our injury crisis has deepened. Stick a fork in us. We’re done…or are we? Despite our earlier optimism engendered by having humiliated Man City just before the FA Cup fourth round's fourth round enforced a break on us, and despite our retreat to Dubai to resurrect our campaign, much as we did last season, we instead find ourselves over a barrel after news that Kai Havertz suffered an as-yet unspeciified injury, suspected to be hamstring-related.

aye. let's hope we can give him a new contract ASAP. I'd love to see him stay; he's just now entering his prime.

Indeed - and that Merseyside derby looks a little trickier now that Dyche has been sacked and Moyes is back. I had written that one off as a Liverpool win. Everton might just have enough to earn a draw.

Can Arsenal count on another Dubai-based resurrection? Our title hopes may just depend on it. December 2023 was a a dark time. It was the worst of times. From seven matches, we took just ten points. That's the kind of form that would yield just 26.6 points from 38—that's where Luton, whom we barely beat 3-4 on 5 December, finished. They got relegated. The high point of that stretch would be the creditable 1-1 draw at Anfield, but we followed that by lost at home to West Ham and away to Fulham.

Despite not playing since 21 December 2024, Bukayo Saka has created more big chances than any other player in the Premier League this season (19). 46% of the chances he has created in the PL in 2024/25 have been big chances and 24% of them have been assists.🌶️

biggest contribution Anelka ever made was getting sold. £25m of almost pure-profit after buying him for less than £1m? Wow.

2 August 1999: Anelka joins Real Madrid.
3 August 1999: Henry joins the Arsenal.

I'm not saying it's cause and effect, but...
