Digital artwork of a fantasy feral yellow dragon swimming underwater. The dragon has a fierce expression and is surrounded by crackling electric blue lightning. The scene features a deep blue ocean background with water bubbles and dynamic lighting reflecting off the dragon's scales.

Meet 'CC' the first cloned cat
Dr. Duane Kramer and his team created the first cloned cat 15 years ago. He shares his cloning accomplishment with us.
There are commercial pet cloning services. I won't comment on the ethics of it.
But reputable services will inform you of the likely outcome: a new animal with their own traits, personality... just identical DNA.
A copy that is just as unique as the original.

An orange white and black calico cat named Rainbow greeting CC, who is in that late kitten stage, and is a tabby calico, no orange. They sit on a conference table, and Rainbow looks like she's about to either groom or bite CC.
The first cat to be cloned was a calico female named Rainbow (left).
The clone, produced at Texas A&M University in 2001 was named "CC" for Carbon Copy or CopyCat (right).
Notice something odd about the "identical copy"?
Not very identical is she?
But they *are confirmed* genetically identical.

When did people start using a chopping block for firewood?
This article was originally a thread on social media, which is why it is formatted with lots of images and short responses. The text is about the image below that paragraph. So when did people startโฆ
Thanks to a Discord user I've added 3 new images to my article about when people started using tree trunks as chopping blocks.
Am yet to find evidence for anyone doing it during the middle ages or before!

Oh, what's that on the front of the gag? Though I recognise the shape of the gag itself - as the owner of one like that, wow is it relentless~

The idea of Cleopatra as this femme fatale who would sleep with anyone comes from a smear campaign created by Roman authors. From what we know Cleopatra was actually a great politician and orator, and she knew multiple languages, which was not that common at the time!

I agree - and it's gotta be so fun to watch the various helpers toy- I mean GUESTS interacting and being so adorable together
Not to mention the enrichment to the guests
(Showing that even together, they are just as helpless to escape or help each other. Locked for as long as the timer says...)

Also, the very trope of 'witches having green skin' is unattested before 1939. The green skin of the Witch of the West was probably an idea to show off the technicolor technology of the movie, and then it became a fantasy trope by itself!

This Day in Labor History: April 21, 1894. Bituminous coal miners went on strike. They failed in the face of state violence but this is one of the big strikes that slowly built cultures of solidarity and resistance to oppression that over many decades created a path to worker victory!

I wonder if trying to breathe through all those tubes and valves makes an appropriate squealing sound for the new rubber bird-pig~

And yet somehow getting quieter and quieter - other than the rubber squeaks and desperate huffs, of course~
Surely nothing to do with air getting harder and harder to come by... Or the pressure of the layers making the gagging on that throat gag worse...

Drooly drone bird mask onto three-point-eye rubber pig hood is a stroke of genius, honestly, especially with the essential deep fat and nose tubes integrated into a base rubber layer beneath
