The sad thing is that nobody will actually break them up. A fine paid for by the profits they already made and a promise to be good going forward is a broken justice system.

A not so subtle back channel to Bibi confirming that all orders have been delivered to the subordinates. Isreal bombed the building with the journalists in Lebanon today and realized how lame not being in active conflict was.

Netflix put the disc in the mail not in the cloud ๐Ÿ˜€ And yes we do need some of these centers as modern infastructure. But the current rapid build out isn't as much about useful services as much as the extra power hungry AI slop farms. And Netflix was also better with discs...

These are the deep thoughts that will plague you as an all night Uber driver.

Yhea, it is the biggest scam of the AI bubble. They are spending literally tillions of dollars but the real guts of these centers will fry out or become outdated rapidly. They will never have the revenue to keep running and replacing these over time. And new is all too often cheaper than a refit.

If only there were a term that would explain an economy where business activity is declining while prices increase....

These things will become obsolete in less than 10 years and then be abandoned as the shell companies that own them go bankrupt, leaving their e-waste for the communities to clean up.

Isn't part of the issue too that if you want to be a able to drop your phone in the pool (or toilet) it sort of needs to be pretty solidly sealed? Reasonable compromise to just make sure it at least has a long expected life.

Note that the WSJ also reported this weekend that Private Credit firms like Blue Owl are looking to load up on consumer and credit card debt. This should all work out very well. Bank sells debt to to PC firm, bank removes loss reserves, bank makes loan to PC firm secured by the debt the bank sold...

No war crimes and oil still not flowing. That is about the best outcome we could hope for. Every day oil isn't flowing makes the econonic crash more and more inevitable once things begin really breaking (see Lufthansa today and rhe US low cost carriers). GOP is good for the economy ๐Ÿคฃ

Or we can not subsidize FIFA's corrupt boondoggle bc of FIFA specifically. FIFA has always been corrupt, but the cities all bid to host before it became the 36 Olympics. Same should apply to LA in '28. Subsidizing FIFA is not the same as general tourism or sporting events.

Can we charge World Cup attendees $150 for their rides to NJT so that Metro and ST don't have to subsidize this boondoggle?

Trump clearly failed to explain to the FBI director the concept of "if you sue it triggers discovery"

I for one strongly support having his name on every forest service vault toilet. "I'm going to take a piss in the Trump" should roll off people's lips in 50 years like that is that they were always called.

Age isn't determinative, but having actual experience has value that you can only get by doing things. But on the back end if your experience is all 20+ years out of date it can become a hindrance rather than an asset as the world has changed around you in ways you don't even perceive

I want to tax the fuck out of Amazon and Bezos, but this is actually dumb and wildly not true since ROADS are largely funded out of the gas tax, which Amazon actually does pay when it fills its fleet. It also pays vehicle registration fees. Roads are like the tiniest fraction of income taxes.

This is 2026, no guillotines...we will boil them in the waste heat exchangers of their data centers like this era merits. All that waste heat has a purpose after all.

"Change" cannot be about just restoring the "norms" of 2008. They have to run on an actual policy and...god forbid, believe in it enough to defend it without the consultants getting in the middle.

"Respect your elders" makes a lot of sense...when said by someone around 35 to aa 17 year old. After 35 it plateaus for a decade or two and then after 55 age should rapidly be recognized as a liability not an asset. Go retire and get out of the way.

And that is why Trump will replace Hoover in the history books as our nation's finest leader. And let's give him credit. he has won at least six wars with Persia just this month. He likes winning them so much we just keep doing it over and over.
