Only you can control the assumptions you make. I'm going to continue to agree with the sentiments of the OP.

Did that... Come as a surprise to someone? πŸ˜•

I'm just an ordinary person, so I'd like to see all people making more art of all subjects. And I will always invite people to learn and try their best, regardless of context. It's the only way for the world to get better.

So you're saying in your worldview there is no amount of understanding or education that could overcome this, the only solution is to never try? Better things aren't possible?

You might be right, but that's exactly the kind of attitude that's discouraging more positive representation too (and damaging society on a wider level- "don't teach or learn, just give up and never try.")

I think the action is very clear and readable! 😸

I think you're right about this, and this defeatist attitude is also why we don't see more Native American representation anymore either.

when a subculture lacks a consistent meaning behind their difference to mainstream society, it makes it much easier to sensationalize, target or absorb

to have a community, there needs to be depth & nuance, things that keep us engaged & bonded with eachother

otherwise ur just a fandom

The difference between Bluesky and Twitter is that when your skeet does numbers nobody actually follows. πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

America has manufactured a narrative where its own citizens, raised on its own professed ideals, are a cultural threat - one that must be dealt with like all threats to America, with brutality and dishonesty.

Dating is really tough right now! Not a lot of people know what they want, or are prepared to be vulnerable. Good luck! πŸ’›πŸ’šπŸ’™

Thank you! I've been saying for years that gamification could save the world, and I think I've actually figured out how. 😺 Getting it into a playtestable state now.

Thank you so much for reaching out! πŸ’š I didn't expect you to see my post. ^^;

I'm working on a TTRPG, but I'm not looking to re-invent the wheel. Do you know of any games that are LARPs about effecting positive change IRL, or any TTRPGs designed for creating propaganda-like stories?

I think Bluesky needs a feature that lets people hide all posts where the comments are turned off. I'm on social media to COMMUNICATE, if people can't ask questions or respond then what's the point? Being able to quote but not reply makes it even weirder. I want to talk TO people, not ABOUT them!

A vintage metal piggy bank

I'm so glad you've been able to hang on to him! I have a piggy that's lasted as long for me too (And similar feelings about him.) ☺️ His tail is a paperclip and his ears stay on with bent metal tabs. Simple, sturdy, and charming. 😸

Let me talk to you about Piggy.

When I was ten, Auntie took me to a pottery studio to pick a gift.

Enter scene: This guy.

Auntie hated it, pleaded I get something 'pretty'

But I fell hard for this little dude, and he informed much of my perspective on artistry, utility, and perception.

I've been pulling at threads, trying to follow them back in time and figure out how to return some of that old magic into the communities that used to be full of it!

It's easy to see what's wrong, but it's hard to see how to make it right...

Genuinely curious- with 200,000+ available titles, why not pick a game that's more suited to what you want? Wouldn't that be a more satisfying experience?

People have forgotten that play doesn't automatically need rules, realism, or logic! Sometimes play is just PLAY!

Reminder, you don't need something to hate or someone to kill to make things better.

Hate will not save us.

You can pick something you love and make it better. You can do that right now.

"Why am I so concerned with an idea of what a MAN looks like, when I can be interested in what -I- look like?"

This is a conversation I have with every trans friend sooner or later, and I love seeing it said here. πŸ’›πŸ’šπŸ’™

Video games taught me that if you just talk to enough NPCs, someone somewhere has the answer that advances the plot, and that strat works in real life too.
