Before starting 3D, I remembered that I never finished Super Meat Boy. So I picked up my ~15 year old save & 10 stages, 2 bosses, & a couple hours later, I #JustBeatIt. Will I continue to unlock characters? Maybe. Am I good enough to do the dark world? Most likely not.

I 100%ed my map, finished the arena, & upgraded all my abilities to the max; before ending all of it. The only thing I didn't do, which I'm just not patient (or skilled) enough to have done, was to finish the arena challenges with five hearts each. That's a tall order, even on original difficulty.

I had an incredible time with Minishoot' Adventures. From the Zelda-inspired exploration to the bullet-hell boss ballets, it was a great experience to #JustBeatIt. Everything about this game hit just right. If you've heard it's good, it is.
Onward towards completion!

"Look, I run a very profitable company. But if I start paying employees overtime, start paying all of my employees, giving them benefits, giving them a taste of the success they deliver to me, where will that end?

Not with me being rich, that's where."

- Most rich people.

Patrick's Parabox is an absolutely incredible puzzle game that nearly gave me whiplash from feeling stupid to ingenious in each room. Extremely robust & creative, but never padded, I #JustBeatIt & every room on offer... WHAT DO YOU MEAN THERE'S EVEN MORE?! I mean, yay!?

The EX version of R-Type Dimensions added an infinite mode putting this #JustBeatIt of R-Type within reach. It's a fun play through, even if you aren't forced to struggle.

I also #JustBeatIt the second, more difficult loop to see the true ending.

I wasn't expecting much from the Master System demake of R-Type, but I was totally wrong. It's obviously not the best *port*, but it might be the overall best *home version*. Other than the occasional extreme flicker, this was an unexpected pleasure to #JustBeatIt.

The Game Boy Color version of R-Type makes for an even closer mimic of the arcade game by colorizing the Game Boy version. It's nicer to look at, but the underlying game is still the same, which is fine, because it's pretty awesome! #JustBeatIt

Demakes to weaker hardware are always a fascination to me, so I wanted to see how R-Type on the Game Boy held up. And, frankly? It's great! The required cutbacks lead to a better player experience by taking the hardest edges off the difficulty. Glad I #JustBeatIt.

For decades, I've genuinely loved the first half of R-Type (TurboGrafx-16 version), but only now did I use emulation's tools to #JustBeatIt fully. Man. I don't see how that back half could be learned & reacted to by mere mortal gamers. It gets so nasty.

You have to admire the high effort of FMV games like Mansion of Hidden Souls (Sega CD), even while you lament the lack of engaging gameplay. This roughly 7-room "mansion" is 97% proto-walking sim, > 2% adventure game, & < 1% puzzles, & I #JustBeatIt. Nothing to recommend

I've played After Loop on my Android TV since 2017. Since the game is now defunct & unlisted, AFAICT I've unlocked everything currently possible, so I'll consider it a #JustBeatIt. I'm sad it's nearly lost media b/c it's a wonderful Sokoban variant. Love it, want more!

I was incorrect! The boxes are numbered on the bottom. I noticed the white production codes, but I'd totally overlooked the very plain numerals as part of the package printing. (Thx reddit!)

My understanding of VVVVVV, that it's a platformer with a gravity flip mechanic instead of jumping, sold this game extremely short. Now I understand why it's an indie darling: it's terrific with a banging soundtrack! I #JustBeatIt & am anxious to find the last trinkets.

Doors: Awakening is another mobile puzzle-box game (ala The Room) & I #JustBeatIt. While I'm not becoming a fan of the genre, they're breezily engaging & I respect the artistry on offer. And this one has a few decent 'actual puzzles' dispersed throughout its stages.
