I feel like that just makes it more real. (And maybe that option's preferable to churning out AI shit for money? I know next to nothing about Dylan but... that doesn't seem like the Dylan I know.)

This is SO amazing!!!
I would secretly love to listen to everyone who was super involved share their bracket strategy and their voting strategy - especially how voting may change depending on bracket, songs remaining, etc.
I thought it was some Onion-esque headline (as most news seems these days) but it's true! parade.com/news/bob-dyl...
On this, the last day of @marchxness.bsky.social, I was delighted to encounter this absurd thread, which made me think back to the beginning and @leahmensch.bsky.social's essay
Happy birthday, Celine Dion! I wrote an essay for @marchxness.bsky.social about how much "My Heart Will Go On" means to me, but you are too famous to probably ever know this, which is itself a sadness this March
Definitely paying off
You saying it independently just proves it is!
"25 is the iceberg and she is the ship, and he will always be Rose on the door" PURE POETRY
This is beautiful.
he's a brick and she'd be drowning slowly
I don't have the voice or confidence for this, but I CAN badly play these same notes on my clicky-clacky flute! youtu.be/OtHRGo8ppmo
VOTE @mfitejohnson.bsky.social / My Heart Will Go On! marchxness.com#/sadnesscham...
HOW DID I FORGET ABOUT THIS?!!?!? PROOF of the Sadness!
"I'd just like to point out that it's the love theme to 'Titanic' which is a real-life event where 1,500 people died" we are pulling out all the stops for the March Sadness final people!
THE March Sadness National Championship: (6) Ben Folds Five's "Brick" & @cicilybennion.bsky.social against (1) Celine Dion's "My Heart Will Go On" & @mfitejohnson.bsky.social! Listen to the songs! Read the essays! Which is the saddest? YOU DECIDE (by 9am AZ time 3/31): marchxness.com#/sadnesscham...
Oh my gosh, that's hilarious!!
Pls teach a masterclass in this
And that's the just the writing! Singing on video is a whole other thing I would never be able to push myself to do. But I also don't have a voice like yours so it's for the best.
I can't imagine how it must have felt to live that, then write it, then put it out there for everyone to read, but I'm so glad you did. It definitely moved me and is incredibly memorable. One of my favorites of all the Xnesses I've experienced so far.
This is exactly what I did! And Celine is the only one left in my bracket so I don't know if my idea of popular was wrong or if everything just went haywire this year.
Or both.
I wish we could have this version at the top of your essay! I love this more than the original. Gorgeous version for a stunning essay!
SO glad your essay finally got written and I know I will revisit it often. It changed the play, band, and song for me.
Damn, every one of those vocalists kicked Axl's ass IMO! Except maybe the "unhinged" one - I couldn't make it through the whole song. But the other ladies rock it!
This @marchxness.bsky.social game is very close right now and my vote goes to @mfitejohnson.bsky.social's moving essay about Celine Dion's "My Heart Will Go On." Also writing a kick-ass essay *WHILE* teaching high school is an amazing accomplishment says this former h.s. English teacher. Go Melissa!
Final Four @marchxness.bsky.social voting is open now through Friday, March 27, at noon Eastern/9 a.m. Pacific! Please consider voting to send Celine and me (and my dog Jazzy, pictured here) to the championship game!
Oh my gosh, what an awesome find and the perfect date!
Vote @mfitejohnson.bsky.social /Celine in the Final Four!

I just found out that the @marchxness.bsky.social tournament got a shout-out in The New York Times! (Maybe that happens every year, but this is all new to me!) Here's a free version if anyone wants to take a look:

Is there not going to be a runoff?! It was tied 300-300 when I looked at 11:05...?!
