Today I asked a Millennial to guess my age. She guessed ~10 years younger than my age, and I'm not sure if that's a comment on solid skin care or she just doesn't personally know a lot of Gen X folk. Either way, I'm doing something right.

Once again, an airline shit show at FLL means my well laid plans to sleep on a plane and get home at a decent hour have been thwarted for two connections and a 2am arrival. Unlikely to fly #americanairlines again soon.

I moved to Portland a year and a half ago and I still have the same anxiety when I drop a pizza box in the wrong bin. But yeah, it's ok.

The Physical Therapist is gently massaging the fingers on my broken wrist.
Him: We were taught that you're not supposed to do this any harder than you would pet your cat.
Me: ... my cat likes it rough.

That feeling the first few days after surgery when you keep finding those foam electrode pads still randomly stuck all over your torso.

Nearly 50 years of post-trauma surgical reconstruction and I still have anxiety and tears the night before they patch me back together again, every time. My cat doesn't understand yet.

Dr: ... so surgery is likely next week.
Me: Good, I'd like to be well on the road to recovery by the time I travel in early March.
Dr: Where are you going?
Me: Florida, for a cruise.
Dr: Hopefully not the part where it snows!
Me: ...

You know you've gone pro when the X-ray tech lets you look at his screen to show you what's up, gives you his informal reading (fractured indeed) and then turns to you and says in a serious tone, "We never had this conversation."

Been a hot minute since I had to reset the Days Without Incident count but I have probably broken my wrist again. The meat sack reminding me that gravy and bad genetics still have a grudge against me.

Didn't want to get dressed for short errands so I threw on a chunky cardigan and long skirt over the Cure tee and leggings I was lounging in. Got three compliments on my "90s goth style", someone asked what my favorite Cure record is, and a young clerk remarked "You remind me of my favorite aunt!"

Me: You have a whole afternoon, nay, a whole day, to be productive and get some shit done that you have been wanting to do...
Also me: What if we just sat on the sofa with coffee and the laptop and maybe a video game and felt bad about it tomorrow?

Thinking about my upcoming research study check-in for OI patients and so much anxiety bubbled up. I don't usually associate this dr appt with negative feelings but I'll be spending three hours documenting the deterioration of my health and my escalating inability to manage it. I'm so tired, y'all.
