Just because genetically the baby is one biological sex, does not mean that child will identify that way. There are so many variations of hormones (which is often why their genitalia is ambiguous in the first place). Let them decide when they are ready.
Given they only recently stopped surgically forcing babies with ambiguous genitalia to mold to fit whatever gender they deemed best for them, this is not surprising.
