That‘s a nice one, Bernd! The long integration time really pays off with all those nice details 👋🔭🧪🤩
Contrast, Nico 🥳✨🧪🔭
Nice catch, Bernd! I like the rough texture of the galaxy with all the detailed substructures 👍🧪🔭
It looks as if it was made of three independently rotating discs like the time turner in Harry Potter novels. Thank your for the beautiful image of this celestial wonder 🧪🔭🚀
A nebula appears like a transparent bubble with a white edge, inside which are two hemispheres of orange clouds being blown out from the center, split by a dark vertical lane, giving the overall appearance of a see-through skull with a brain inside, as seen from above. A few stars appear with eight points, and small background galaxies can be seen around and through the outer bubble.
Astronomers are losing their minds over #NASAWebb’s latest images of the very brainy-looking nebula PMR 1. Its distinctive form is the result of a dying star expelling its outer layers: https://news.stsci.edu/4tVQccE 🔭 🧪
In the centre an opaque cloud of grey gas hides a star. Two strong beams of light from the star emerge from large holes in both sides of the cloud. The central cloud is surrounded by concentric, wispy shells of gas, illuminated by the star’s light. The shells reflect extra light where they’re hit by the twin beams. A crowd of smaller stars with cross-shaped spikes over them surround the nebula on a black background.
#PPOD: This stunning image from the NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope reveals a dramatic interplay of light and shadow in the Egg Nebula, sculpted by freshly ejected stardust. Located approximately 1000 light-years away in the constellation Cygnus, the Egg Nebula features a central star... 🧪 🔭
Interesting, Bernd! This really seems to be a very faint target. Are you planning on adding more nights to this on one of your next stays? It shows very nice structures and has potential for even more 🤩
Beautiful, Andreas. You propelled M1 a few places up on my wanted list. Did not expect it to be this detailed with a C8 🔭🤩🧪
Fantastic, Andreas. Ist’s a nice target well captured 🧪🔭🤩
Currently, several weaker comets are at least bright enough to be photographed. I captured 24P/Schaumasse on 17 January and the fragmented #comet C/2025 K1 (ATLAS) back on 26 December 2025. Their very different appearances are definitely worth further observation #astrophotography 🔭
Thank you, Paul. It was a very special night. Today, the aurora is not as vivid, but I took my young boys out to a field nearby to see it themselves. They loved it very much 🤩
A good start might be to get an App that notifies you when the conditions are auspicious. I use Space Weather Live as it gives me all the special details. But most aurora alert apps are fine. Good luck to you!
Hi Lynne,
I am living <52* latitude in centra Germany. Last night, northern lights have been visible even below the alps. Wishing you luck to see it next time, too.
What a wonderful night 🤩
The strongest solar storm in over 20 years produced an amazing show for hours. 🧪🔭
Finally, here is my composite image of the #Geminids peak on 13/14 December 2025. It was by far my most successful observation of a #MeteorShower, with over 260 meteors within 5 hours - what a night! The image is a composite of 61 individual shots of 15s and contains 65 Geminids. #Astrophotography 🔭
A beautiful way to eine the year! Wishing you all the best for 2026 🤩🔭
This is #comet C/2025 K1 (ATLAS) from 11 December with two distinct nucleus fragments. It has changed significantly compared to my image from 22 November - and it has clearly reduced its relative speed, as I was able to expose for a little longer this time... #astrophotography 🔭
Sh2-200 is an old and large planetary nebula and therefore it’s very faint. Its shape and streak like structures resemble a bear claw hence the name Bearclaw Nebula is quite fitting. Sh2-200 is located in the constellation of Cassiopeia at an estimated distance of about 3,600 light years away from Earth.
Sh2-200 The Bearclaw Nebula captured from my patio on six nights last month 😊🔭
This was shot on the EdgeHD 8 for a total integration time of about 55 hours in mono with Ha and OIII narrowband filters and combined with RGB stars.

@kat-astro-bot.bsky.social what do you see?
That is a faint one - congratulations! Nice structures 👌
A little late to the party, but here's last weekend's sun with massive sunspots, captured with a Nikon D5600 + Tamron 150-600 at 600 mm (f/8; ISO100; stack of 10 x 1/100 s) through thin clouds #astrophotography #sunphotography 🔭
Very interesting! Well done, Andreas 🔭🤩
Tolles Bild. Ich kannte die Region auch noch nicht. Kommt auf meine Wunschliste 🤩
VdB 14 and VdB 15 are a pair of beautiful reflection nebulae in the constellation Camelopardalis. They are about 2600 light years away from Earth.
VdB 14 and VdB 15 captured from my dark site in southern France end of September 🇫🇷 😊🔭
This was shot on the EdgeHD 8 with Hyperstar for a total integration time of about 5.5 hours using an OSC cam with just the UV/IR-Cut filter.

@kat-astro-bot.bsky.social what do you see?
Beautiful image, Andreas. Nice details and some mystical dust 🧪🔭
Wolf’s Cave Nebula is a peculiar target: A reflection nebula at the tip of dark nebula. And this strange combo is even accompanied by an ancient planetary nebula and some supernova remnant filaments. All in one frame!
Wolf’s Cave Nebula (LDN 1217 / vdB 152) captured on two nights a couple of weeks ago 😊🔭
This was shot on the EdgeHD 8 with Hyperstar for a total integration time of about 8.5 hours. I combined OSC and mono Ha data for this image.
