Today we have a daylength of 14:05 in Vancouver, compared to 12:54 on April 1, in Phoenix they have a daylength of 13:13 hours today compared to 12:33 on April 1. We get a maximum daylength of 16:15 here at solstice, and Phoenix gets a maximum daylength of 14:20. ๐ค๐

The irony being that in Arizona the actual number of daylight hours changes less than above the 49th. ๐ค
And this post from the same Save Standard Time group.
I just saw this post on FB from a group in Alberta supporting permanent standard time. Oddly enough, the post box in the graphic is in Arizona. ๐ค
This whole suddenly owning up to spreading manure seems suspicious; MGT, MFer Carlson, Rogan... it seems that something is coming with a giant set of teeth aimed at backsides and they want to get out ahead of it. ๐ค๐
On the Left it seems to mostly be an issue with the political bunch that come from a clueless wealthy or privileged background, whereas on the Right it seems to drive the policies toward maximum suffering, humiliation and degradation of peoples they deem "outsiders" of their tribe. ๐
That seems to be the one missing element in the entire right wing bunch, a complete lack of shame or guilt, as both of those require self awareness and empathy. The sociopaths have a found a club they can all join and be welcome without changing their behaviour.๐
If Covid had its own Tik Tok account it could have kept up the vibe and been in the public gestalt. But viruses aren't that meme aware.
I can already picture the opening credits rolling... it's an adventure comedy. www.youtube.com/watch?v=vvps...
One of the best examples of Japanese music festivals is this video with Maximum the Hormone, compiled from several shows between 2013-2015. The music is Japanese punk but the vibe is pure bonkers fun. And the crowd is in sync. www.youtube.com/watch?v=AUeR...
The Band-Maid 40 minute set on the Central Lab stage from April 4 starts about 1:20 into the archive and they are just on fire. Atarashii Gakko! on the Echoes Baa (main) stage starts about 3:00 in and is so high energy. There's several other bands you might be familiar with as well.
I honestly don't know how their business plan works that they can do a simultaneous live stream of the shows from two stages. CES festival in Japan streamed live in early April and then just posted the archive for a week. Some great bands on these replays. www.youtube.com/playlist?lis...
I moved into my place in 1991 and the first time I turned the lights out in the bedroom after a long day of moving in, I laughed out loud with delight as that was exactly what the ceiling presented to me. Wouldn't change it for the world. โญ
Eating alone in a restaurant is simply a method of fixing being hungry when you're out and alone. ๐ค
Unexpected musical discoveries that open completely new horizons are the absolute best kind. I had that happen with Japanese rock bands in 2022. Washed the musical tedium away completely.
I'm sure they just assumed that you were also enrolled in Mansplainin' 101 as that is a co-requirement for a degree in a field of medicine. ๐๐
That's definitely not getting many column inches in most news papers or electronic media coverage, how in the blazes did the G&M actually publish an article on covid? Since Facebook just won't allow any news to be posted, a lot of things vanish into the "must not matter" category.
And obvious AI slop, like blazingly obvious. And yet it must make someone money or they wouldn't bother.
It's unfortunate that when people see or hear AI in Japanese song lyrics they assume it means A.I. and attendant slop, where ai (ๆ / ใใ) means unconditional love or affection.
Only broken news.
I have the perfect song for that... ๐ This even has English lyrics. www.youtube.com/watch?v=LVl0...
And most jobs don't offer endless sick days, eventually the sick days become vacation days or unpaid leave. I've been self employed for 30 years, I just can't risk anything else that can become chronic. Canada has free health care but that won't save your self employed business from failing.
What's missing entirely from the news article is any indication if the low attendance was related to just skipping classes because they could, or if they were missing classes due to illness. That seems like it would be a critical component in developing a policy like this. ๐ค
A few, but many of them have already shuffled off their mortal coil, the challenge of being an old coot.
Seatbelts in cars (but still none in school buses), Corvairs with swing axles, door plugs on Boeing airliners, air bag recalls, coal mines... so many examples of profits over people, and safety being last on the list.
Instead of drum fills the songs start with a recording for tires rolling across cattleguards? ๐ค
Could it be climate change and fossil fuels? ๐ค
The reasoning behind the smoking debacle were clear, it was profits, covid obliviousness is less obvious, the PPE industry could have jumped on the profit bandwagon and promoted the daylights out of masks, UV lights and HEPA air filters, but stood by and let people be talked out of all of it.๐คจ๐ค

So we can expect ICE to try and deport the Pope when he's back in Chicago after they check his phone for anti-DT posts? If they can get by his bodyguards.
Anything involving the development of bureaucratic paperwork usually requires invoking Hanlon's Razor... "Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity."๐
I often wonder how much of current politics is driven by covid-induced brain damage, as lot of the decisions being made seem to be made by people with the IQ of a psychedelic mushroom. ๐ฅบ๐
