Gregg Popovich had a remarkable coaching career. But what has always impressed me most is the courage of his convictions. This is a man unafraid to speak truth to power — an increasingly rare thing in this world.

Jamie Dimon with a clear message to elected officials in Philadelphia. If you’re ok with the status quo, leave things as is. If you want to grow the economy and attract businesses, change the unfriendly business tax structure.

It’s a start. Incremental urbanism is the way.

A lot of people just can’t envision the benefits, but these short trials can have a snowball effect.

Center City District is the gift that keeps on giving.

Incredible team there, they really maximize their impact and continually prove naysayers wrong, finding ways to incrementally improve the city, as others just throw up their hands.

Long term, it’s also so dumb that the Northeast has regional flights, clogging runways and the air. Complete failure by our DOTs to not have NEC HSR.

Really sad to see Philadelphia’s oligarch going through tough times like this. He might have to eat out less this year. Maybe start flying commercial again.

How many are practicing Catholics? People that leave the church aren’t removed that stat.

Would be a lot of prime real estate going back on the tax rolls.

A lot of parking lots that could become housing.

I was really hopeful for SmartCars when they came out, but Americans said nope, make my SUVs and Trucks larger but have less utility.

$50 fine is too low.

I wonder if cops will actually pursue vehicles when they see a concealed plate.

I think the end game here is some type of drone tech that deploys when a license plate can’t be read by a speed/red light/sound camera, that directs officers to the vehicle in question.

And the large Italian population plays into this. My grandmom was Sicilian and grew up on a farm in Swedesboro, NJ. There were a lot of Italian farming family's like hers in that area.

Sadly, over the last 30 years, many of these farms were turned into sprawling McMansions on isolated culdesacs.

As someone who grew up in South Jersey, my understanding is that it's due to the sandy soil caused by that region once being covered by the ocean.

Have to go to a roadside farmstand for the best tomatoes.

China’s High Speed Rail overlaid on the US

I, for one, thought we were done rolling over and letting China win on the world stage. We used to build hard things in America, but apparently now we just leave that up to the Chinese.

Vanguard should have an office tower in the Philly CBD. Instead they’re sprawled out in Malvern PA at the edge of the MSA.

When you look at the antonyms, you really start to wonder what’s going on here.

Part of this is probably tied to our shift to a consumerist society. People stopped trying to do things, make mistakes, continue on.

We’ve gotten stuck in our heads.

So you think it’s better to encourage businesses to avoid Philly because of unfavorable business taxes than it is to lower them to a competitive level so we stop losing companies to the burbs? Do you understand why there is so many 70s/80s vintage offices over the border from the city in the burbs?
