I see your sexy devil and raise you this exceedingly handsome fella from an early 20th century edition of Dr Faustus.

I just saw a whole bunch of Edinburgh rainbow posts, so I thought I'd add mine. #Edinburgh

Happy Easter! A bit late in the game, but let me point you to some templates for paper easter eggs you can download for free from my website: carmenland.wordpress.com/portfolio/fr...

As a reader, seeing the same book advertised for several days in a row has helped me find a couple of books I've really enjoyed recently, but as someone who occasionally probably should advertise her own stuff, I also feel self-conscious about keeping on about it.

Digital illustration of a forest creature. She has a human-ish face and body, pointy years, and tree branches growing out of her head. Her chest, shoulders and arms are covered in patches of bark. There are colourful birds sitting on her arms, shoulders and the branches on her head. She's smiling down on a little blue bird sitting on her hand.

I think the stuff underneath the vine, with the really heartshaped leaves and yellow flowers, which really looks like picture book clover, isn't actually clover, incidentally.

Ye, some types of clover do trail like that, though, and their flower heads sometimes look green and spiky before they start actually flowering.

If you intend to vote Scottish Green this May, please be aware of potential voter confusion on the peach coloured regional list ballot paper.

Take care to mark your X next to the actual Scottish Greens and not another party which has 'GREEN' dominating their ballot insignia.

Going by the leaves, could it be a type of clover? 🍀

Petition: Review anti-discrimination laws to strengthen trans women & LGBTQ+ protections Launch a review into strengthening legal protections and clearer enforcement against discrimination, harassment and exclusion of trans women and LGBTQ+ people in employment, education, healthcare, hou...

This is a really good petition. It holds the government accountable for their failure to protect trans people, gender diverse people, and women against anti-trans hate and lawfare.

An appeal for help from the #science / #SciArt community please - ideally but not exclusively in the palaeo sector:
Are there any charities (UK or international) specifically focussed on supporting women and girls into careers in science (especially from underprivileged/marginalised groups)?

After seeing the news last week of 100+ banned books in a Manchester school, I've done a small display to encourage people to buy them.

That's correct, so what are you asking for? Not to be criticised??

3 weeks ago 1 0 1 0

And if the victims are literally screaming at you that what they need is for you to stop supporting someone who’s harming them, you can't just decide for yourself that 'indulging in one guilty pleasure' is ok because you do other stuff that's not bad, it's not your place.

3 weeks ago 1 0 1 0

I really don't think trying to label people as definitely "good" or "bad" is in any way useful or possible, and I'm not saying that people can't make up for mistakes, but it is up to the victims to decide what's necessary and enough to do so...

3 weeks ago 1 0 2 0

Actually, you're wrong about that. It's voluntary giving, and whether we voluntarily donate money, whether we want to or not, depends on how socially palatable we personally find the given cause. It's not guaranteed income for the organisation, and liable to shift with political/ social priorities.
