@antvalentim.bsky.social and I were in charge of constructing the Climate Politics section. Check out the 19 panels crossing fields and subdisciplines!

The same people who think we should throw trans people under the bus also tell us to feel sorry for Trump voters who get negatively affected by his policies. 🤷‍♂️

Man, I hate this decision. I get the drive to reduce submissions given soaring (AI) applications. But given the inherent variability of evaluations, this goes too far in cutting unsuccessful applicants out of the system for years.

Then it would be even fairer to just tell applicants right away and don’t let us wait for years?

Yes, that's the claim. But why not inform people: You are not shortlisted, no interview planned, however, if you agree, we will keep your information until the vacancy is filled, so in case unforeseen events (whole list declines) occur, we can contact you again?

All our light blue conference shirts getting tiny spots of sauce on it while cooking would already make it worth 😉

When you apply for a professorship at some German universities, you won't hear back from them until they fill the position – even if they don't even invite you for interviews. So it may take 1–2 years(!) of no official feedback. None.

(Other unis here tell you they won't invite you🤷)

Geodesic calculation Kolari - Lagos

Anyone want to set a new record?

When Tornio 🇫🇮 - Haparanda 🇸🇪 passenger services start this summer, a new longest train journey in the EU is possible, using multiple trains. Geodesic 3933.23km Kolari 🇫🇮 - Lagos 🇵🇹, surpassing previous best 3855.54km Riksgränsen 🇸🇪 - Lagos 🇵🇹

To be honest, I’ll just try it on my neck and arms because these are places I can easily apply cream to multiple times a day while other areas would be very hard to, and then I’ll see how they compare to untreated areas … not claiming that this is a good study protocol it’s just to trial it

Feels like it, I'll give that a try, too. So far, I never tried more than 2 a day cause that already felt like the maximum one should apply

Look at this. Now, if you feel the urge to explain to innocent bystanders why this is a) hilariously funny, or b) the cringiest of dad jokes, or c) anything in between, you are at least as much of a nerd as I am.

I don’t know about any pregnancy safe stuff tbh. Good luck 🤞

Well the two highlights (or more: lowlights) are definetly urea (just doesn’t help but irritates my skin) and all topical steroids with ingredients you’re allergic to, even after doctors/pharmacists assure you „it’ll work, you won’t react on it…“.
Tried both so many times and never any success

Ooof wished you remained asymptomatic all your life, but great you found closure on the mystery I guess.

If needed, hit me up for 1000+ tested ways on how to *not* improve anything…

Thank you! I love using pictures like these in my lectures on climate resilience to show how glam starchitecture is disconnected from the reality of designing for the climate crisis.

Is it now okay to say "I'm probably more German than you", but what I actually mean is "Why am I like this?"😀
