I went to the @thetraecrowder.bsky.social show last night at Bricktown Comedy Club - OKC and I can easily say it was filled with many much-needed laughs. Thanks for driving up from Texas, Steve Hines!

Several students and their teacher led a sit-in at Katz Department Store in OKC in August, 1958. We heard stories from three of those students today at the Rotary Club of OKC. Thank you to John Kennedy for moderating the conversation and also his work to see a memorial built to commemorate this

Not so fun fact: for roughly every $100 spent on STEM programs (not arguing this is not needed) through federal funds, about 10 cents is spent on civics education. We need to do better about teaching other necessary lessons.

What do you do the day after the Rush Springs Watermelon Festival? Why, you make watermelon salsa and watermelon chili, of course! I was out of citrus spices, so I'm trying Old Bay and a little chili powder instead. Let me know if you make it and how you like it!

It was a great day spent with my mom. We went to lunch and then I took her shopping so she could use up some gift cards that she had. We forgot to take a picture together, so here is one from a few years ago.

The Three States That Are Especially Stuck if Congress Cuts Medicaid States that were once reluctant to expand Medicaid now have their state budgets tied to the fate of the program by constitutional amendments.

A good read for Oklahoma's elected officials and those who would be impacted by our upcoming state budget should these cuts happen

Thank you to OETA for having us on to discuss access to mobile phones during school hours & cyberbullying. It was great to be on the panel with the Hon. Dr. AJ Griffin and Rep. Chad Caldwell with Taelyr Jackson hosting. Catch it again on Saturday at 5:30 or Sunday at 1:30.

My mom, who is on a fixed income, which is her social security check, received support from this program. I can help her, but there are thousands of individuals who have no such support network. This is terrible for those Americans who are struggling month to month.

I would have a tough time coming up with five things that I did last week as I only do three things each day: I wake up, be awesome, and then go to bed. Thank you to my bosses for not putting that extra pressure on me to fiigure out two other things to list.

Thank you to Sen. Dave Rader for authoring SB 364, which will prevent the use of corporal punishment by school employees on students who are in a special needs classification. As you can see from the vote, it passed 31-16. The bill now goes to the OK House where State Rep Anthony Moore will carry it

Sinus infection + partial snow day + finding out that two OICA bills will not be heard = binging the final episodes of Cobra Kai. It was a great ending for each character, as well as a fine grand finale for the series. That was just what the doctor ordered to improve my mood. Cobra Kai never dies!
