Fake Houses of Leinster Gardens, London, On Bayswater Street, are deceptive Victorian façades, only 5 feet thick. They conceal hollow space below where Metropolitan Line tracks run. The Railway built these elegant false fronts to vent steam from trains in the 1860s instead of leaving gaps.

Red Hill station, Leicester, designed by Eliot Noyes in the 1960s, features futuristic “flying saucer” canopies. This Grade II-listed structure, the last in the UK, has six overlapping circular parasols resembling UFOs. The iconic Mobil design reflects Space Age optimism and modernist architecture.
