So pleased to see that Ruth and Theo have won their case. They want to continue to live in a low impact way on land they own, where they have lived and contributed to the local community for 20 yrs. So hard to understand why this should always be such a struggle!

Just came to Bluesky to say the same thing. Best news for ages. Hope Laura can do a bit more solar digging and we can get uk on course to actually do something about human rights abuses I. The solar supply chain
The glamour is intense
We're turning a former opencast coal mine into a solar park - got to be one of my more poetic projects!
Elec price went up to over £1.50/kWh today (20 times normal) on the back of low wind + cold weather. In the future these will be the only times we'll need to crank up the old gas-powered generators. For now we can get a lot better at turning things off if they're not needed at that precise moment.
Health, comfort and also carbon Mike - domestic heating is about 15% of UK carbon emissions according to National Audit office www.nao.org.uk/wp-content/u...
This is why demand side measures are important!
@emilypomroysmith.bsky.social good to hear about your solar install when we were on 5 Live together just now. The @nationwideuk.bsky.social 0% mortgage offer for green tech is interesting - hopefully the Govt's new scheme will make this kind of funding more widely available.
I made the point that a lot of people feel left out of the net zero agenda; solar is one of the main gateways to normalise clean tech (EVs are another, it's a pity they are all so damn expensive!). Connecting people to real progress on carbon is why we set up @bigsolarcoop.bsky.social
Fun being invited on BBC Radio 5 Live this evening to discuss the news that Govt are considering grants/cheap loans to enable more people to install solar. It's welcome as a move to democratise energy; I'd be keen to see it part of a wider policy to involve insulation /heat decarbonisation though.
