The @histassoc.bsky.social CPD, the life in Jane Austen's letters with Dr Freya Johnston is absolutely fascinating.

Afternoon in Bristol and my first visit to M Shed Museum in about 4 years. The People of Bristol exhibition is particularly brilliant, good to see Colston with some context instead of on a plinth.

It's high praise indeed!

Adore Ham, my friend used to live there as part of NT job, visiting her was excellent. Used to get Elizabeth Murray into my Alevel students work as much as possible (women really lacking in that exam spec)

According to TES:

Teachers reported less of an interest for subject- or phase-specific knowledge or pedagogy in CPD than in 2023: 33 per cent in 2024, down from 38 per cent.

Clearly, none of the 66% have ever been to @1972shp.bsky.social or @histassoc.bsky.social history conferences.

Today I like to tell my non teacher friends I don't think it is fair that we have a bank holiday at the same time as our half term and we should have another in lieu. This is Very Fun.

Kicking off 2025 with my first KIT day - revision cards for GCSE students. Made slightly more challenging by the 10 week old who will ONLY settle with me.
