I know we are all understandably concerned about kidsβ #screentime but when I tell you filing down your toddlerβs nails while letting them watch @msrachelforlittles.bsky.social is a GAMECHANGER.

The academic job market is nerve-wracking for many reasons but I gotta tell you whatβs worse is the waiting. Especially when the vibes were good π
I think you need to take it for science β¨
I very much talk with my hands and itβs FOR the people I am talking to, not for me. How do I know this? If Iβm on a video call I put the hand gestures closer to my face so they can still be seen ππ what IS that?!
This is helpful, thank you!
This is in addition to listing all my publications on the CV itself? Putting on the to-do list.
What if they just periodically had to sit in their office closets while someone simulated being a shooter in the corridor, like my grade school children do?

Finished grading today! Should only do this as a grad student one more time (:
Simultaneously love and hate that #academicwiki exists. This job market is TOUGH.
MIC is hiring! We are starting a research program aimed at the ways in which corporations are shaping AI governance agendas in 3 national contexts. If you are a critical data/AI studies researcher, please check out the call for applications! Deadline is Dec 25.
The Blue Sky logo makes me think of βThe Big Door Prize.β No additional thoughts - just that lil observation.
Pumping in an airport bathroom is a 1/10 experience regardless of the cleanliness of the space.
I thoroughly appreciate that the Denver International airport has a lactation room in each concourse, but there are only the three. The one in mine has been busy even though I have myself a 45 min buffer. There should be a lactation space per bathroom location at all travel sites.
I give 5 stars literally each time I uber unless I am made to feel unsafe due to the driving, etc. At work weβve been talking about how there is a really big gap between a 4 star review for events (my industry) and a 5 star review. Does your mentality about a star rating vary a lot by context?
