(Also, give a teacher a chair when they’re helping Year 1s. Crouching is pain)

Two more full days of teaching to go this week and tomorrow is a full day of health and physical education. Will I survive or be a physical wreck by Saturday?

First teaching day this year when the top of my foot isn’t sore at the end of the day

Turns out I was involuntarily turning out one foot - hypermobility is wild - by focusing on it, I’ve lifted my foot in a way that prevents it from hurting

My hip now hurts in a muscular way, not an injury way…

I’m enjoying the audiobooks of the Matthew Condon trilogy, but the narrator cannot pronounce Coorparoo or Kedron

I desperately need to catch up on life admin and plan for my kid's birthday . . . And I've been booked for teaching jobs three days of this week

When the state government is employing Joh tricks in other areas (ask rail employees how Joh’s old tricks have been used against them) people are going to be wary at restricting protests

My father was terrified about my sister and I marching in the protest against the Iraq War. When he was younger, people were beaten by police for mild protests.

If you understand Joh and the Joke and the Inquiry, then you’ll have a more nuanced view. Otherwise, shut up and listen

I’m seriously going to side eye anyone who loudly has opinions on the Queensland government restricting protest without understanding the 20th century history of Queensland

Sunrise over the beach. Dark sky obove a line of orange and red light. The ocean below is tinged with a little light. The beach is dark, but you can see street lights close and in the distance

It's a bit pretty out there

Yep. The dance Academy is going through a school of distance education which measures attendance based on completed work. So anything the kids don't do in the 90 minutes will be done at home. It just has to be done, though, not done to a high quality

People seem a little shocked that the Pope is so strong in his continued prayers for peace

Every mass I’ve gone to, even ones ‘run’ by Year 3 students, include prayers for peace. It’s what they do

Parents and dancers are being sold this Academy as a straight pathway to a professional dance career and they’re going to head out with limited education

Meanwhile, other ballet schools and coaching services are advertising rather frantically. I'm seeing the words 'integrity' and 'loyalty' being used a lot

Latest from the Influencer's Ballet Academy.

Full time students will receive an entire 90 minutes a day for their academic education.

Distance education recommendations are 4 hours a day. Even at 3 hours a day, the students will have to go home and do additional work, all self motivated

I make costumes for my kids and some of the others and the highest compliment I get is the dancer telling me their costume is comfortable- it's my aim every time

I use colour and shape and sparkle to look good, but comfort is so important

(I learned to sew so my sensory kid had something to wear)

They also highlight the pelvis and hips in a strange way

It's not good technique or artistry the leotards accentuate- it's just about getting 'nice looking' photos and videos for social media

The latest ballet wear craze in our local area is leotards with super high cut legs. Which is supposed to make legs look longer, but makes some of the little girls (under 12) look unhealthily thin.

My nearly 10 year old is very offended that kids at her school don’t know what the Oscars or the Tony Awards are

I pointed out that maybe she could give grace for the Tonys, but she insists that if you know musicals you should know the Tonys 😆

Your AI isn't kind and polite. It's technology. It has no feelings and no morality. You're just dealing with a manipulation

(To the teachers who spend much longer justifying their AI use than the time they save using AI)

The Qld government was awful and corrupt in the 1970/1980s, but how arrogant was the NSW government insisting that they were the only people who could hold events in 1988 because 'Australia was born there'

I was listening to a podcast which pointed out that the focus shouldn't be on the teacher, it should be on the dancers. I'm not sure how the influencer is going to consolidate that

Last week we went to a dance competition. It was a massive day. The main organiser was my old dance teacher and I don't think she even took a break from trying to keep things running smoothly

This weekend is a competition run by the Influencer. She's put herself in so many photos with dancers

A page of text from a book. The page talks about corruption and brutality in 1970s and 1980s Queensland. A section is highlighted - it reads: "Retired or defeated government ministers could also expect lucrative positions on boards and in the public service"

So, the (LNP) Queensland government appointed Peter Dutton to a board position this week

The similarities between Bjelke-Petersen and Trump are also really striking. Which is probably something we should talk about more when we have Australian (Queensland!) politicians admiring Trump

(I say this from the Gold Coast where the mayor wants his own Trump Tower)

Yeah, I'm reading a Qld history book.

But I was a young school kid during the Inquiry. I should have grown up with this stuff drummed into me. Instead it was kind of pushed aside as something that just happened

The people my age are now some of the people in charge.

The corruption and brutality of Queensland institutions in the 70s and 80s dug itself so firmly into the state that, in my opinion, we have been stopped from really teaching the history to prevent it happening again

I like Geebung personally, but I can’t imagine some of the influencer ballet girls being thrilled at taking the Kippa Ring train to Sunshine station - the most industrial station of the whole north coast line
