About Fishing on Steam Cast your line into calm waters and feel the quiet pull beneath the surface. Each cast brings rewards, but some things you reel in were never meant to be found.

This looks absolutely incredible!

Full game loop in regardless how rudimentary it is, is a massive achievement well done!

This looks unbelievably smooth - did you do the art and anim yourself?

I love this idea! Seems like a beneficial move for both parties.

A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step!

I enjoyed this article a lot! AI feels inevitable, although with the amount of money people are pouring into it I think a crash is on the horizon. We'll consolidate down to a few different key players and continue to bury it's way into OS's and key DCC's. Like a tick.

Fun fact. The mechanic of this infinite wedding dine room is inspired by retro game. The world scrolling can technically be done with GameObject and object pooling, but I think instanced rendering will be better for the performance. 🧵

I love this art, it's a nice blend styles! Is it all post processing? What's your engine?

I'm developing a first-person puzzle escape game, Back Alley.

Implemented an early event scene! Syncing animation, sound, and UI was tough—but seeing it all come together is incredibly fun.

Still a long way to go, but I'll keep going!

That makes total sense! So you never need to go back in order to take another route to get to the exit?

Well done! Any release is a reason to celebrate!

That makes sense!

Do you have a maximum backtracking amount the play can do?

(Sorry for the q's, I'm curious about proc gen for my own projects)

Does this generation allow for 'islands' in the middle, or will I always be able to find the exit if I hug the left (or right) wall the entire time? Are there any clues to finding the correct way through the maze?

Looks cool though!

In my opinion we've got to stop talking about the engines in terms of which is better for beginners.

I made Demeter in 9 months with zero experience using UE5 and only using blueprints.

If I started with Unity because I'm a beginner, the game never would have been made because I can't program!

I didn't even know the deck had accelerometers!!

This looks great! How about a lighting pass on playable space versus dressing? I'm not sure where I'm supposed to run as the player currently.

Do up down left right all call the same follow logic? Are you calculating in degrees and it's getting a funky 0.0001 degree when it goes up? Does it think the player is still in the way and is pathing to avoid collision? That's all I can think of off the top of my head.

If you're a solo dev or small indie, you can't expect to be the best at everything. As long as you can put your ego aside and understand which advice to take and which to ignore (and build up a network of people who are willing to give advice!) then you'll be in a strong position imo.

UI is the absolute worst. I've never found any software that handles it gracefully.

Wait until you design for 2k, 4k, ultra wide, super ultra wide etc. just the pits
