The new piece by me and @drcisme.bsky.social in @theconversation.com isn't a cheerful topic for weekend reading - but it is an important one.

As part of the Women’s Library at 100 exhibition @carolinederry.bsky.social and I were asked to curate a part of the exhibition about Josephine Butler as they have an archive of her papers there. For a little more about Josephine my blog is here: clairecunnington.com/2026/04/08/w...
The Flying Child are a cause very close to my heart. They deliver a CSA survivor and practitioner training programme to education, social care and healthcare. It's a survivor led organisation and they are struggling for funding. Do help if you can.

New resources for adult survivors
The CSA Centre has created this page with resources for adult survivors of CSA. It looks great!
Imagine the lack of any sense of morality that would lead you to conclude enabling harm to children (sexual exploitation, poor mental health etc) are an 'inevitable' part of running your multi-million pound business. Bet they don't mean their kids. www.theguardian.com/technology/2...
How are they now 14? Best kids ever.
Guess which one I've repainted.

A lovely evening at @lselibrary.bsky.social celebrating their Women's Library at 100 exhibition - including the section @drcisme.bsky.social and I curated.
Guess how many people stayed overnight in one of these lodging houses on Flower and Dean Street London in 1881.
Ooh do go to this exhibition if you are in London.

Every day I read new revelations about Epstein's connections. I am exhausted. Those of us who know about the terrible things some men and women do, know all of this. What I want to see are some consequences for their selfish choices. We live the consequences every day. When will they face any?
How to piss off all sexual offenders.

A gingerbread castle
A half eaten gingerbread castle and the hands that destroyed it.
Gingerbread castle ---> gingerbread ruin. #tinyjoys
The voice acting is so good on it too. You'll know who I mean! Plus the fighting is great and there's romance too. Give it a go. You can blame me if you don't like it. 🙂
I haven't played BG3 (I've just bought it but I need to be vaguely sociable over christmas!) but DOS2 is my favourite game ever...so far. Rumour has it BG3 might beat it though!
Tonight the kids and I planted some seeds then lit a candle to make wishes. It's our solstice tradition. As it is lightening up from now on I wished for that. It's been an absolute shit of a year for me and lots of others. Thankfully the wheel keeps turning.
Divinity original sin 2?
Thanks! I'll have a read. Trauma and creativity is another area I want to research.
Today is Trans Day of Remembrance. Since 31st October 2024, at least 340 trans people have lost their lives to anti-trans violence, or suicide. Transphobia kills. Please be an ally every day. tdor.translivesmatter.info/reports?from...
I would love to research spiritual beliefs after childhood trauma. I know I was very angry with a God I said I did not believe in. #academicsky
I'm 55. Britain was definitely not better 50 years ago. I suspect it might have been better 20 years ago though.
If you're in the UK and trying to go anywhere by train today...don't. I had 2 trains to catch today. First one was cancelled, second one tree fell on the line.
