It took me a minute to realize the headline "Italian-American organizations sue Columbus over 2020 statue removal" referred to suing the state government, not the statue itself.

I don't care so much that the UConn women lost. One team has to. By any other team's metric, making it to the final four would have been amazing enough. But for the coach to have a hissy fit at the end of the game? So bad. Totally diminishes all the effort those women have put in.
Geno, you've got some splanin' to do.
I benefited when I sold my house last year.
Travel Day 2: Up at 3, having barely slept because I was afraid of oversleeping. Get to airport and have to wait over 30 for the counter to open. Minute or two wait at security.
In this age of AI, can't we put it to use to make airlines function?
Travel Day 1: Arrive at airport 2.5 hours early. No wait at security. Flight delayed, then cancelled. Put on another flight, get on the plane, they cancel the flight and we all deplane. I managed to get a comp hotel room and meal voutures.
That annoying guy, sitting at the airport gate talking incessantly on the phone, got up and left his portable phone charger. Finders keepers!
Saw stuff here re: how UConn athletics gets all sorts of 💰 & the academic side has a hiring freeze. True. And I just got a fundraising email from UConn Health.
But.
In these days of multiple wars & numerous Americans not feeling safe going about their lives, I opt for the joy of dual final fours.
Traveling this week and just looked at the 10 day forecast. Will be consulting a magic 8 ball for packing recommendations.
🎵 Root, root, root for the [away] team
If they don't win, it's a shame 🎵
I better not express my opinion on this to the locals, lol. (Maybe I’ll go to the Sunday game…)
Hartford, CT skyline and Founders Bridge as viewed from East Hartford.
A week till I get to see this in person.
Shocked eagle watching as partner flies off and leaves him to watch three eggs.
Not sure which is which, but assuming "Clyde" came in to say hi to "Bonnie." By the look on "Clyde's" face, "Bonnie" announced she was going off for a latte and a mani/pedi.
Two bald eagles in a nest.
I spend a few minutes every day watching this eagle cam. Today, for the first time, I saw both "Bonnie" and "Clyde."
I'd say that's not limited to law firms...
Not warm enough for a @colgate.edu Day #biketowork in my short sleeve jersey, so the socks will have to do.
Magnolia flower starting to bloom.
If, when I sold my house last year, I could have taken the magnolia tree with me, I would have. So when I noticed today that there are magnolia trees lining the driveway to my place of work, I was very excited.

March forth to a great day in the archives!
Another day, another 311 request. Pedestrian signal not working. Pretty sure it gets turned off every time there's a [University] men's basketball game. Foul!
Intriguing! I think the last one has closed in CT.
Where is there still a Friendly's?!
Can we go to the used Presidents lot this weekend and trade this one in for a different model? Heck, at this point I'd even take one with a Mission Accomplished banner.
Happy Colgate Day to those who celebrate.
Personal best on the Sunday NYT crossword today. That's my kind of Super competition.
The combination of social media, archives, and snow always reminds me of the winter we were planning the NEA-MARAC joint meeting. @k8bowers.bsky.social provided images that aptly illustrated "But it fell too deep, And it fell too long."
8" of snow that ended at 5pm yesterday. A city (within a city - this state is so weird) of 3.14 sq miles. And they still haven't managed to plow my street. A plow went up the street, but there's no evidence it used the blade.
Toto, we're not in Connecticut anymore.
Indeed.
We are only expecting 8-12" here, so probably won't need the official cyclingarchivist.com snow stick, but we are prepared nonetheless. #snowmageddon26
