I talk to my Middle School students about this all the time. The sheer act of research and learning and doing your own work makes your brain bigger. That's the reason to do it and really the only reason to do it at that age.

This country cannot stand for racism, bigotry, and homophobia of any kind. It cannot stand for trampling on the rights of women, immigrants, POC, the poor, and the unhoused. It cannot stand for corporations and billionaires to control the strings of power any longer.

When it is over, every single person who helped tRump and his cronies destroy our country and constitution MUST be held to account. We cannot allow them to crawl back from whence they came like we did after the first American Civil War. The consequences must be firm and robust.

Any other teachers out there noticing that the pandemic of students refusing to even try to read assignment instructions has grown exponentially in the last 2 years? For reference, I am a middle school teacher. It is getting beyond frustrating.
