Giving the public everything, like Kash thinks is correct here, is incorrect and at worst, dangerous. It’s up to law enforcement to protect the integrity of an investigation. Yes, correct people when they are wrong with a steer, but full dissemination only when it is safe and correct to do so.
A phrase often used by the press is: “it’s in the public interest” this is a flawed take of “for the interest of the public” - this doesn’t mean be transparent or tell them everything. It means provide information safely and accordingly without causing fear/alarm and not compromise an investigation.
