Thatβs a wrap! Huge thank you to everyone who joined us for #ABACBS2025 & a big shout-out to the Adelaide bioinfo community who worked their butts off. Couldnβt have asked for a better crew or a better venue than Adelaide Oval. @wessidepraxis.bsky.social @linsalrob.bsky.social
Hey #mob, what do you think & feel about genomics research?
This project is indigenous led, with the aim that future genomics research is done the right way - guided by community values, priorities, and leadership

Come join us for #Radelaide 2025! This course is brilliant both for content & learning structure - lots of skill application sections with supportive tutors and a legendary teacher!
Any time π excited to be part of this year's #Radelaide again! Such a good time, wickedly informative course and great teacher!
Anecdotally, #COVID was one of the scariest infections when our little one was only a few months old. She went from seemingly fine to unresponsive within 30 min, needing hospital admission because it was doing some very scary things to her heart.
Yeah whether cat data was included in your test datasets was the first thing I scanned for in the paper! Was really stoked to see that, and intrigued at the missingness handling - I'm keen to try this out with our data, i.e. I'll definitely be in touch when I inevitably take a wrong turn somewhere π
Nice! We're working with patient data too, it's been interesting seeing how different methods deal with categorical metadata and missingness, which are rife in hospital records too π
Thanks for that! Looking forward to reading this one too then π
π
This looks super cool! Do you have a sense for what % missingness per variable or % missingness per sample the method can handle; or would imputation still be recommended before using treefuser?
"How has being a mum impacted your research career?"
Well, my notes have gotten a hell of a lot cooler π

Highly recommend, it's wonderfully cathartic for that pay wall rage π
*cough* sci-hub if you find yourself in that situation again

Can I suggest @blackochreomics.bsky.social & @ncig2013.bsky.social for the global Indigenous list? We work with Indigenous genomics and Data sovereignty
Proud that that's my boss π @blackochreomics.bsky.social @ncig2013.bsky.social & ALIGN network, bringing change and paving the way to close the Health Gap, with and for Indigenous Australians π€πβ€οΈ
βI want to read publications whose leaders are not afraid to call a fascist a fucking fascist. I worry what Helmuth's loss means for Scientific American, and for anyone doing and covering science.β
SO DO I.
