4. -Even if you think you're going out of your way not to put "politics" into your work, you are. Who you are in the world, what you think of it, and what you aspire to say your work is *inherently* a social/political stance. Writers can't help but be "political" because all writing is commentary.
Some thoughts about writing stuff, in no particular order (this might be a long-ish thread):
1. When Old Man's War came out (2005), lots of people read it and assumed I was conservative, because of its subject matter, and sub-genre, me being a white dude from Ohio, and other various factors.
We joke, but it is genuinely kinda nice to have a games industry shitshow clusterfuck right now that doesn't involve endless profits not being enough or replacing workers with AI.
Just good old fashion mismanagement and hubris.
