I'm disappointed in this one. It seems to have high critical acclaim, but there's nothing to back that up. The combat was bad, both boring and with poor balance. The story was bad and left me confused at every turn. The characters were bad.
I don't know if I'll continue the series.

How I would open Portal 3: Chel rappels down into Aperture. It’s hard going because she doesn’t have the portal device anymore. Eventually she crashes through a door into some kind of break room, and there are like a dozen Chels inside. All identical to her. Eating lunch. Then GLaDOS comes on the speaker like, before you judge me, you left your DNA *all over the place*. I boxed it up for you, but you didn’t leave a forwarding address. And then, well, can *you* say you never got wistful late at night and started thinking about old... test subjects?

I watched the first couple episodes of Witch Hat Atelier, and wow does it do a good job of adapting the manga.
I hadn't watched anime in several years because I always just found the source material more engaging, but I think Witch Hat Atelier may just keep my attention.

1. Mina the Hollower
The new game from Shovel Knight developers Yacht Club, I've been eagerly anticipating this one, it looks so good! Love that there's a few games lately that have that Gameboy colour vibe going on.
I agree. I think part of the reason people are so vehement about it is that Nintendo went along with it through Hyrule Historia (even if they threw that into question with their next game).
I do think that it is fun to try and connect games in a series though. Something I do with every Tales game.
Same here! I also like to have a good understanding of my codebase, so I tend to only use libraries that do a single job and write everything else myself.
Will never understand those people who vibe code. Do they never test their software? Over half of the work at my job is correcting low quality code by a "senior" programming that I suspect is LLM generated, and it really sucks to fix.

A superhero story that gets what makes them so compelling: character-driven narratives in a world with powers. I felt good as a superhero dispatcher, and my success rate went up as I learned everyone's quirks, even as I had to deal with people being people.
Story was pretty good too.

Much better than the first game in terms of gameplay and controls. The lack of fine camera controls still holds it back, and the unreliability of stick-controlled gadgets is not worth losing camera controls.
Still decently fun, even if it overstays its welcome a tad.

A charming lowpoly collectathon that provides ample challenges for getting 100%. Finding the frogs was fun, and beating the game without the abilities requires a lot of thought.
There was also a scary tsuchinoko.
