Great player.
Reportedly a great person.
Absolutely hated when she played against the Thorns.

"Just... The right's... bad faith."
I shortened it for you. 😉
That's a crazy stat from a midfielder who also scores goals.
Very early days, but I have been impressed so far.
I'm impressed with her reading of the game for a 20 year old.
She is a freaking baller.
I'm not sure there's a midfielder 20 years old or younger in the world that I would rather have, including Lily.
I agree.
Straight reds often get an additional match or two, so I'm not surprised.
I wonder if a "violent conduct" dismissal mandates a mandatory minimum of one additional match, because within the realm of violent conduct, it wasn't particularly severe and it clearly wasn't intentional.
Annie states this far better than I ever could.
She is low key really valuable with her versatility and effort.
This is more the defense (Obaze positioning iffy, Messner looking a little shaky) that I think we expected to see early this season.
She is sooooo good!
Agreed on both counts.
I thought Vilahamn's comments about the red cards in the post match interview were good. He was gently critical and referred to it as a learning opportunity for the players.
Bogere was more of an 8/10 in Norway, so we will see how she adapts to the position change + country/culture change and huge step up in quality of play.
Similar question for Harvey regarding step up in quality.
With Liv and the frontline, the hope is that they don't need offense from Fleming.
I don't think a midfield of Liv, Hina, and Fleming provides enough defensive cover.
You want Liv at the 10, Hina can help defensively but isn't a defensive midfielder, and restricting Fleming to the positional limitations of a DM reduces much of her value.
Those three aren't a balanced midfield.
I think it was definitely good business, given Portland's needs and the fact that Hina wanted a raise.
Reyna is a warrior. She will battle for everything.
But I think Vignola and Müller are our best fullbacks.
This is the Jessie Fleming who was a regular starter on a dominant Chelsea team from 2020-2023.
I made the same joke in the xOG game thread.
And Harvey should get the majority of the blame.
Of two players for 40 minutes and they barely looked dangerous.
Honestly, Seattle was terrible tonight.
When the Thorns were down 1 player, they dominated the Reign in possession and being dangerous.
Then when the thorns were down two players, Seattle had no clue how to attack. Lumping in crosses from wide is the least effective way to use a player advantage
Tillamook? 😉
Just like Vilahamn drew up.
I'm amazed that they even bought a team named the "Red Stars".
I think the trade made sense at the time and I still think so today, but I miss Hina.
And I wish the team would use that $600k they got on the deal on a top CB or DM...
I know a lot of Thorns fans, including my daughters, do. ❤️
I hadn't heard that date before.
I'm not sure a midfield of Liv, Jessie, and Hina would work. That's an 8/10 who you want playing as a 10, an 8, and an 8/10 (sort of). Not much deep defensive cover there.
As sad as I was to lose Hina, given that we had Liv, Jessie, Hina, and Sam (cough) for Gale's preferred 3-person midfield, the deal made sense.
A lot of soldiers fought (and died) on a lot of islands in the Pacific Theater.
I'm fairly sure for them it felt like "boots on the ground in combat circumstances."
What a 🤡.
