i think trump wants the same thing we all want and iran is too disciplined to give it to him
Beatrice poses an interesting filmmaking problem given how little they interacted. Avati finds some interesting ways around this, but very funny how the obligatory sex scene is with a more-or-less random babe, with Dante freaking out and imagining her disapproving corpse only once they're finished
Watched Pupi Avati's Dante (2022) last night. Boccaccio recounts the poet's life as he journeys to make a state apology to Dante's surviving daughter. Subtitles a bit wonky and score seemed to borrow heavily from Alexander Nevsky, but the closest i've ever come to enjoying a biopic.

Somehow I missed Oleada becoming Ola. Looks nice
Trump's world historical fuckup of the Strait of Hormuz has me thinking about that old joke about the American warship and the lighthouse:
River breakup started. Normally, this time of year the snowmelt is almost complete, but there’s still a lot of snow on the ground. Streets are clear but there’s still three feet of snow on every lawn. Been a weird winter, but I’ll take a weird winter over a smoky summer, not that I have a choice.

#ZombieCBC has been calling Corsight AI an "Israeli" company, instead of disclosing it is owned by Stephen Harper.
😉
AI art is so ugly I actually find it useful. In the past my natural generosity of spirit forced me to waste my precious time on earth reading your copy, now I can simply glance at your shitty art and immediately sort whatever it is I'm looking at into my mental 'pay no mind' bin. very efficient

#OtD 17 Apr 2014 Spanish machinist, anarchist and Civil War fighter, Concha Perez Collado, died aged 99. She took part in jail breaks, insurrectionary strikes, the Civil War, the May Days and helped rebuild the @CNTsindicato after Franco's death stories.workingclasshistory.com/article/8855...

What seemed by middle-of-the-road Canadian standards as common sense in 2019, is now called radical. The mushy middle is a relative position. So media outlets of the political centre move right just because the whole spectrum shifts that way. Those on board may barely feel the motion.

New post. The one thing that really bugs me about game of thrones: adamsnotes.substack.com/p/i-got-mad-...
Exactly one year ago today:
An anthropomorphic piece of sliced bread and a bunch of red roses smiling, walking hand-in-hand. The slice of bread carries a red banner that says "We Want It All" Beneath the image it says Haymarket Books Est. 2001, Chicago IL
